GQ Responds To Taylor Lautner Controversy!

Remember how we told you Australia's GQ had a funny question to ask Taylor Lautner?? The whole "Did Gus Van Sant and Justin Lance Black (two very prominent gay men in Hollywood) hit on you?" thing?

Yes, well, as soon as Dustin got word of that little diddy, he went to his blog with some questions of his own:

Really Mr. GQ writer? I’m curious, will you be asking all of the handsome actors I’ve ever had the privilege of working with or meeting if I made passes at them as well? I’d love to be there when you ask Sean Penn that same question. Or, Mr. GQ writer, were you projecting your own unprofessional desires onto me and Gus? Perhaps? Or worse still, are you a homophobe?

GQ, after realizing their interview had caused some raucous, then went on the defense, releasing this statement:

We’ve seen some of the comments floating around regarding our recent interview with Taylor Lautner and apologise if anyone was offended by anything in the article. It certainly wasn’t our intention to paint anyone in the story as a sexual predator. The point we were actually trying to push was that Taylor is irresistible to virtually everyone — regardless of sexuality or gender. Hence the film crew cheering at his shirtless scenes while shooting Twilight, and Mark Wahlberg deeming him better looking than Leonardo DiCaprio.

What do U think? Do they mean it??

  2. 2

the impression i got when i read the interview was that they were making him out to be irresistably sexy. they probably ask him if girls chase after him and that sort of thing. gay people can be so defensive sometimes. things are not always meant to be a dig at the gay community. i totally believe them. most people ask these sort of things about taylor lautner. because he is a sex god theres no denying it.

why its true my best friend, whos gay, is always flirting with straight guys they always get creeied out too lol

Don't get me wrong, I am huge supporter of human rights, not just gay right, but it seems to me, the "celebrity" members of the gay community try to make everything a hot button issue when its not…would everyone had made such a big deal if taylor had gone to dinner with two older women and the reporter asked if THEY had hit on him? no. Older women of america would not have come out and said "they are trying to make us look like deviants!"…if you want to be treated like everyone else…act like it. you actually hurt your issues by doing things like this. Because honestly people are getting tired of hearing about things like this when there are much more important things to talk about.

stop the gay bullying of celebrties! the politicians who deny gay rights are the real enemies!

I don't even know who that Lance guy is but he needs to lighten up and grow sense of humor. The magazine was obviously being lighthearted. Not everything has to turn into a political issue about minorities. Pretty soon we'll all be too scared to joke about anything at all for fear of crossing some over-the-top 'politically correct' line . If celebrities put themselves out there as some sort of minority 'community representives', then they should grow some thicker skin because people are going to talk about them. BTW I've only heard one interview with Taylor Lautner and he seemed very gay to me. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Oh my God! Enough! I fully expect that if he had gone out with Cameron Diaz and Scarlett Johansson he would have been asked the same question! Maybe some gay people should realize that THEY are the ones who think of themselves as inferior…..because THEY are the only ones whose minds go to these ridiculous places when they read a harmless, meant-to-be-fun comment such as this.

i wasnt going to say anything but the gays take everything SO seriously omfg, take a chill pill. If you can relax your ass for a cock, you can relax your feelings towards simple jokes.

    Yes I went there.

  11. 11

well let's pretend this is a woman. "So Lily.. I bet your bosses were hitting on you ALL the time you are just so sexy."

UNCOMFORTABLE.. AND could risk losing any further contracts with this company due to sexual harrasment liability

  12. 12

the question was just trashy. excuses won't erase that from existance.

  13. 13

OK, I'm gay….this is stupid. Straight people get the same BS questions. It's fair game!

  14. 14

    Who's "Dustin"?

  15. 15

Re: Jackay00 – It wasn't a comment directed at someone "just trying to do their job." It was a Hollywood actor interviewed about the sill misconception that people think he's cute. He's not. Maybe when he starts growing pubes he'll be handsome, but right now he looks like aa awkward goofy kid. To the person who claimed him better looking than Leo, GET A GRIP!!! Leo's all kinds of hot and a great actor This turd won't be either.

  16. 16

Taylor Lautner is "Parrish Maguire" …….google it.

  17. 17

I believe they meant what they said and maybe someone took the original interview the wrong way. I'm old enough to be Taylors mother but my nieces think he's hot and i have to say, he is definetly easy on the eyes. Not everything is a disrespectful comment aimed at a specific gender, race, sexuality or religon.
