Sly Stone Enters Rehab

| Filed under: DrugsMusic MinuteSad SadRehab

It's about time.

Sly Stone of the '70s funk bad, Sly & The Family Stone, has become so down and out that he was arrested earlier in the year for being in possession of cocaine, while homeless and living in his van, has finally entered a rehab facility for treatment.

A source close to the music legend reveals:

"[Sly] wants to get clean, and stay sober. Sly has fallen on very hard times in the past few years. Sly will be in rehab for at least the next 90 days, and he is committed to getting sober."

Unbelievable that someone who had so much could lose everything and fall apart - and all so quickly.

This is what drugs can do you, kiddies. Stay away.

We wish him the best of luck during this time, and peaceful, effective recovery.

Stay strong.

Sly filed a 50 million dollar lawsuit against Sly and the Family Stone former manager Jerry Goldstein in 2010, claiming that Goldstein used fraudulent practices to convince him to deliver the rights to his songs to Goldstein. In the suit, he makes the same claim about the Sly and the Family Stone trademark. In turn, Goldstein filed a countersuit for slander following a rant by Stone at the Coachella Festival. The lawsuits will determine whether Sly 'lost' everything, or if it was fraudulently taken.

@v@, I hope that lawsuit against Goldstein sides with Sly.
    This is a sad story.
I loved their music back in the day.
What a terrible ending after all those great performances and fun at the disco.
I sure wish I was the "Disco Queen" again dancing the Hustle, instead of a pain-in-the-ass political junkie watching America crumble.
    Those 70's were good times!

Re: luvs2hustle – Love 'Dance to the Music', 'Everyday People', could go on and on. It would be great if Sly got something, but I would have to side with whatever the truth of the matter is.
