Too Darn Hot For Anything Goes!

| Filed under: Personally PerezBroadway BabiesSutton Foster

Yes! Yes! Yes!!!!!!!

Give them that old razzle dazzle! Spirit fingers! Tapping toes! And all that jazz!!!!

Sutton Foster is a star! And the new Broadway revival of Anything Goes she headlines is just as fabulous as she is! We were lucky enough to see it on Saturday, our last day in NYC.

Don't just take our word for it, watch her killer performance of the title song (above)!

Yup, she won the Tony for her role of Reno Sweeney. For a revival!

She deserved it! She's THAT GOOD!

We were a little concerned going into Anything Goes because while we liked the new production of How To Succeed we didn't love the actual show. Thankfully, the same wasn't the case with Anything Goes.

The book was rewritten, so it doesn't feel out of date. And the music! Oh, the music! Cole Porter classics that have become a part of American popular culture!

Anything Goes! I Get A Kick Out Of You! It's De-Lovely!

We de-loved it and more!

And did we mention Sutton Foster?????

Plus Colin Donnell as Billy was excellent too! So talented and charismatic on stage!

We loved loved loved all-around!

This has been such an amazing theater-going trip!

We can't wait to do it again!!!!!

Mario, this show is gay. It was gay many years ago and it's even gayer now.

Yes, Cole Porter is the best.
"Night and Day" and "I've Got You Under My Skin" are the reasons I took up ballroom dancing. I wanted to feel like Ginger Rogers dancing with Fred Astaire.

The songs are still great, but, I've moved on from the dying vaudeville type entertainment of Broadway that they keep trying to resuscitate.

Give me a dance partner or some House music and Big Beat, lasers and some appropriate recreational drugs… it's a lot more funner for the evening, than what Broadway tickets and a nice dinner costs in NYC.

Hey Piggy, you are such a pretentious piece of shit.

The older I get, the more nostalgic I become for a time when celebrities were people with real talent. That included most Broadway stars who were triple threats.

(Can't believe I'm commenting on this…) I would say that Steven Spielberg's wife in the intro to Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom did a better job (1984).

The beggining was really nice, it even brought me back to that scene of Clara Bow dancing with the sailors, only that sh was one foxy girl. I enjoyed this a lot.

Ok so you failed at funny cartoons. Then you failed at the music industry. Not to mention a failed writer. Now you're trying to be an expert on broadway? I know where this is going…. it starts with a big F.

Re: BonerMcBone – I'm not trying to do anything. I'm just BEING. And I'm being the same lover of musicals I've always been.

So glad Perez loved this show… I have never seen a better show on Broadway and can't recommend it enough. Sutton Foster is a revelation and any theatre fan should see this show. Joel Grey is a living legend and fantastic in this show, Collin O'Donnell is a wonderful leading man and will be around Broadway along time (and should also play Don Draper in a "young flashback" on Mad Men)… in fact, the whole cast is fantastic led by brilliant job by Kathleen Marshall.
