Once Upon A Time Is A Hit!!!

| Filed under: TV NewsBusiness Blitz

once upon a time is a hit

Would you expect anything less from the writers of LOST???

The series premiere of ABC's Once Upon a Time brought in very impressive numbers last night, with 12.8 million viewers and a 3.9 rating in adults 18-49! Wowsa!

Following the Once premiere, Desperate Housewives was able to maintain a solid 9.2 million viewers and a 3.0 rating in adults 18-49, but Pan Am did NOT fare so well with 5.8 million viewers and a 1.8 rating in adults 18-49. Ouchie!

We're still not optimistic for Pan Am, but we have a feeling this will be the start continuation of a beautiful friendship between ABC and the LOST writers!

What do U think? Will Once Upon a Time become ABC's next big hit show???

"Would you expect anything less from the writers of LOST???". I would expect a whole lot less, yes. And 12.8 isn't anything to brag about, it wont even make the top 10. And from the previews, the budget for this show wont even break even with what it cost to actually run the show on T.V. Cancelled in mid-season 2 (that's being optimistic)

The writers should have Snow White survive a midair accident only to be Lost on an uncharted island where she becomes a Sister Wife.
    .
If that doesn't goose the ratings, I don't know what will.
    .
And maybe they could throw in a Rollerderby angle somewhere.

I enjoyed it. I had been looking forward to it, not because of the LOST connection but because it looked interesting and unique compared to everything else on tv. (Until I saw the Grimm promos but that didn't look as promising.) I think it's gonna walk a fine line but I'll watch. I hope Ginnifer Goodwin's hair gets better though!

Um, I don't think you know what you're talking about. Maybe if it were on cable it would be considered a hit, but it's a network show. For a show that has had so much money sank into it and has been hyped up all over the place, the numbers are much lower than they should be. You can't say a show is a hit until it's been on a couple weeks. If the numbers increase, you could say it's a hit, if they stay the same, then it's doing well. If they decrease, then you can bet it will be canceled. I'm willing to bet that the numbers next week will be about 1/2 what they were for this week. It's not very interesting and I doubt it will keep people tuned in.

By the way, remember when you were going on about what a hit American Horror Story was, after it's initial airing? Well, it's already lost about 1/2 it's viewers. It really dropped off on the 2nd episode and did just marginally better last week, but not enough to make a difference. So, that kind of proves what I stated in my last post.

i didnt hear much about the show before it aired, but it was an alright show..its just going to depend on how it plays out.

I tried tuning in live and after the first 5 minutes i let the rest go onto the DVR, it really didn't capture me, so we'll see if i can continue to watch (on DVR). BTW, Entertainment Weekly rated this one a "C-" I believe.
