NYC Residents To Occupy Protestors: Clean Up Your Poop!

The situation is just getting worse and worse for both protestors and residents in New York.

The quality of life for the Occupy Wall Street protestors have been drastically declining, with residents claiming that they are living on urine-filled streets and have even gone so far as "defecating on our doorsteps," according to one neighbor.

They are also disturbing residents with loud drum beats that go on throughout the night.

Neighbors have gathered together and have asked for the protestors to vacate Zuccotti Park, where they have set up their base camp.

The board however, has called for a resolution that doesn't affect the protestors' First Amendment rights, but still calling for a crackdown on noise and public urination and defecation.

Holy shiz.

U.S. Rep. Jerrold Nadler, Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer and state Sen. Daniel Squadron said that the resolution is:

"…an attempt to establish a sensible framework that respects the protesters' fundamental rights while addressing the very real quality of life concerns for residents and businesses around Zuccotti Park."

What a crappy situation. Literally. Is there any way to get some porta-potties for the protestors?? Or maybe an agreement with local businesses? This just doesn't seem right for anyone involved.

I would like to know what right they have to take away parks form the people who would like to enjoy them. It is one thing to protest for a day or two, but it has become weeks now. I just find it all a bit selfish. Times are tough, but at the end of the day, we are all responsible for ourselves.

"The quality of life for the Occupy Wall Street protestors have been drastically declining"

    The actual quote is:

"New Yorkers who live near the park where anti-Wall Street protesters have been camping out for more than a month are complaining that their quality of life has declined."

No one is forcing the protestors to crap in the streets, it's their decision so it's not their quality of life in jeopardy.

This is ridiculous. I bet you a million bucks aht more than HALF of those "protesters" have NO IDEA what thy're protesting.

how ’bout they do something useful with all this time they have on their hands…work for Habitat for Humanity building homes; serve food in a soup kitchen; offer their skills to a homeless shelter to teach people new job skills; help register people to VOTE; do SOMETHING…ANYTHING…other than using up various cities resources (which tax payers are funding!!) and accomplishing NOTHING!

Do they REALLY believe squatting in a few parks, pissing off residents and having NO cohesive ideas is going to change "corporate America"? All they're doing is DAMNING their cause rather than successfully promote it.

    Idiots.

Funny thing about this is that the protestors could say the same thing to wall street….

this is a very lost group of kids ( as wel as some left over hippie's from the '60s )…its amazing to think in our life time we have witnessed the 'Greatest Generation'( WWII vet's ) and the 'Worst Generation'.

Re: supadupamom – Revolution is perfect, it isn't pretty, and it isn't easy. But at the end of the day, those protestors are out there expressing some important points, which is our right as Americans. The financial system is so complex purely to keep common folk from understanding it. Do the protestors understand everything about our financial system, hell no. But do they know something is wrong. Hell yes. And that is where change begins, with knowing something is wrong and taking a stand to force those in power to listen to what the people have to say. And just because you don't agree with them doesn't make their movement any less valid. Just because its not neatly wrapped up in a little box with a bow, doesn't mean the protestors are wrong. And as far as the neighbors being mad, well, bummer. Join in or get out of the way because the revolution waits for no one.

    **isn't "the revolution isn't perfect'

  8. 8

Well seeing as they have bank rolled $500,000 you'd think they'd be able to rent some decent port a potties. Animals.

Re: FemaleFilmMajor – Join in or get of the way because the revolution waits for no one? Seriously? Get out of the way? The residents of that area have a RIGHT to peace and quiet and sanitation in their neighborhoods. That is their HOME. Just as those lazy mindless bandwagoner protesters have the right to express themselves no matter how stupid they are. You want to see change in our economy? Go protest at the fricken white house. Standing around for months holding posters and shitting in the streets isn't going to do anything. We get your point. Now if you want to see a change go DO something about it.

Re: kirknyc24 – nope, flea baggers are all on their own on this one.

  11. 11

Re: kirknyc24 – Has nothing to do with Tea Party movement, but good try. Last I heard every Tea Party rally was organized and people picked up after themselves. *SHOCK* Go fling poo or something.

  12. 12

what do you mean "this doesn't seem right for anyone involved"..? are you kidding me ? these protesters have a right to act on their basic rights, for sure, but they should only be able to remain doing so provided they follow the law ! pooping on the street and being loud through all hours of the night are obvious law breakers and it is colossally unfair to the residents of new york that these protestors have decided to make their homes a toilet.. cause you can bet your ass if someone took a shit on the protestors' front steps they wouldn't hesitate to open their mouths about it.

  13. 13

Disgusting. Unsanitary. Feces and urine carry all sorts of diseases. This is not right for the people living in and around the area. If they (Occupy Wallstreet) can organize a strike, then they can rent a few porta-potties. No one will take you seriosly if you can't even clean your own shit.

  14. 14

You heard any stories about this from a tea party rally. And tea party people are being paid to protest.

  15. 15

"There is no danger that the protesters who have occupied squares, parks and plazas across the nation in defiance of the corporate state will be co-opted by the Democratic Party or groups like MoveOn. The faux liberal reformers, whose abject failure to stand up for the rights of the poor and the working class, have signed on to this movement because they fear becoming irrelevant." - TruthDig

Wait till they all end up with serious cases of hepatitis.

  17. 17

Disgusting. Sorry you got irrelevant degrees with mom and dads money. I joined the Army to pay for my education. Grow a pair.
