New Eva Longoria Film Has Lesbian Sex Scenes Cut In Spain!

| Filed under: Icky Icky PooGay Gay GayEva LongoriaFilm Flickers

We understand that its themes might be a little controversial, but this is just RIDICULOUS!

Eva Longoria recently filmed a role in a new film, called Without Men, in which she is left in charge of a small Latin American village after all of the men are recruited by a band of guerillas, and as if it would be some surprise, the story explores lesbian relationships that take place between some of the female characters in the other gender's absence!

However, we're shocked to report that in Spain, film executives have cut all of the aforementioned scenes featuring that plotline!

Director Xavier Daniel explains:

"We received word from the Spanish distributor specifying that upon the film's debut in Spain, all of the lesbian scenes will be removed. We're very upset that a company would alter a film that way. People won't fully understand the plot if all the female love scenes are cut. It's unbelievable that this would happen in 2011."

Unbelievable is right! AND shameful!

It seems to be an integral part of the movie - it's not as though they're just gratuitous!

And even if they were - it's his right as a filmmaker!

This really stinks, Spain! What kind of message are you trying to send about homosexuality?

Check out the trailer for the film (above)! What do U think? Should it be edited?

Hola! soy de españa y no me gusta la imagen que da esta noticia.. porque afortunadamente cada vez hay gente mas tolerante y esto supone un paso atras..

Why dont you go to Spain and complain FatBoy. Then make this your life work and just tour other countries setting them straight. Force your beliefs on them.

It's just HORRENDOUS that everyone in this world doesn't think like ME! How dare they!

No lo entiendo…en españa tenemos muchisimas peliculas homosexuales que son importantes…me parece una tonteria lo que han hecho con la de Eva, y nosotros somos muy tolerantes en España, enserio, no lo entiendo

I think it's more like who wants to see her do that…gurl has been around

(I'm sorry if I make any mistake writing this in english :S ) I don't understand why they have done that…In Spain we have so many homosexual movies, which are very famous by the way.. This is so stupid…And we are very tolerant so shut up…

you're such a smartass you forgot Spain passed gay marriage way back in 2005. And there are many gay presentors and actors (as well as lesbians and trasgender) that can live freely in Spain, without discrimination. Perhaps the distributor has a problem, and only the distributor. Perhaps generalizing is bad and puerile (you can look it up in the dictionary).

I usually agree with your gay cause, but clearly you do not know anything about gay rights in the world and how they have evolved.

I have ONE SIMPLE question……… Why are COMMENTS OFF on certain stories? I honestly don't get it. Does anyone know?

M E N T I R A, no sé de dónde sacarás esas noticias o si directamente te las inventas, pero no es verdad

Perezito, honey, don't be so disappointed. It sucks, I get it, but don't forget Spain had the balls to air a full-blow lesbian storyline in Los Hombres de Paco (a nothing-to-do-with-the-gay-scene police show). So, I guess complete change takes time but stilll… NO todo es mierda cruzando el charco ;)

Spanish films are usually very open when it comes to homosexuality, so this is surprising. I just watched Bad Education with Gael García Bernal, and there are multiple scenes in which two men are having sex.

hey Perez I don't actually know if you read tese comments or not but this new shocked you the same it shocked us from Spain!
You should see how many movies are about sex and homosexuality here (and many of them done without taste at all) and they are never censored! and suddenly this movie is being censored…it makes no sense at all!
Spanish cinema has only 3 or 4 themes that makes it what it is and one of them is SEX, it feels as if they couln't get it out of their minds or that they still see it as something that is new and are not yet used to it, I guess it's due to the years of dictatorship in which sex was a taboo and now cinema is full of sex, sex, sex! (as if there wasn't anything else to talk about…and then…when some movie (which doesn't deal with sex) appears it is "surprisingly good"…what a surprise!
