Johnny Depp And Justin Timberlake Were Beat Out By A Puss!

Well, this is certainly unexpected!

Although Johnny Depp's new movie, The Rum Diary, debuted in theaters last night with an expected $5 million opening, it was beat out by both Justin Timberlake's In Time, which is heading for a $13 million opening weekend, and the animated Shrek spin-off Puss in Boots, with a $35!

We maintain that it's those adorable kitteh eyes (above) that are responsible for this! Ha!

    Actually not unexpected at all. Those 3D kid movies always come in at #1.

    Why is this unexpected? Sorry, but Johnny's and Justin's movies look like a major crapfest. I'd rather go see Puss too!

    I already saw that one drunk movie from johnny and in time i don't know what it is but it sounds boring.. now I'll be getting the puss dvd and I've never even seen it yet :)

    Yeah, if I had gone to the movies this weekend, I would have gone to see Puss and Boots too…it actually looks entertaining compared to the other two…

    Yes, of course a 3d kiddie's movie is going to be popular, but for a lot of adults, Johnny Depp's return to the more 'edgy' style he does so well is going to be a winner. Don't know (and don't care) about Justin Timberlake's film - but when The Rum Diary opens here next month, the cinemas are going to be packed to the rafters. The kitty movie is ok to take the kids to see, but it will never overtake any Johnny Depp film in this country.

    I saw it last night. It was great . . . You don't have to see it in 3D, though. I didn't (as I worry about the impact on my eyes).
