Last week, we posted that stuntman, Kun Lieu, sadly passed away while working on the set of Expendables 2.
As for the second stuntman, Nuo Sun, who was hospitalized, his condition has been upgraded to "stable," which is great news.
He's been taken to a facility in Munich, Germany for further treatment.
Meanwhile, production company Nu Image/Millenium Films have released a statement on the two stuntmen:
"Our deepest condolences go to the family of Kun Lieu. His passing is tragic. Our sympathies also go to Nuo Sun who was seriously injured as a result of the same explosion. We have been informed his condiditon has stabilized. He has been transported to Munich, Germany, where he is receiving top medical carefrom the best specialists.
At the time of the accident, neither [Jet] Li's or [Sylvester] Stallone's stuntmen were on or near the second unit set, nor were any of the film’s main actors, director Simon West or any of the main unit crew. Only second unit filming has been temporarily suspended and will resume shortly. The filmmakers continue to work with authorities investigating this accident. Main unit production has not been interrupted and continues as scheduled."
Bottom line is, they need to create a safe environment for cast and crew. It's such a tragedy that a life was lost.
We wish Nuo a speedy recovery.
