Awful! Gay Teen Suspended From High School For Wearing Make-up!

| Filed under: Icky Icky PooGay Gay Gay

This is just DREADFUL!

Check out this news report on 16-year-old Kasey Landrum, a gay teen from Tennessee who was suspended from Lexington High School for wearing eye make-up, even though other punk rock kids do the same with consequence (above)!

Thankfully, after the story was caught wind of by The Tennessee Equality Project and LGBTQNation, Kasey's suspension was reversed and a new school policy, allowing all students to wear make-up, was put into place!

As it should have been!

Unless there was a strict dress code in place, which there clearly wasn't, these kids need the ability to express themselves and who they are, REGARDLESS of sexual preference!

EQUAL RIGHTS FOR ALL!

Let's just let anyone do what they want. We don't need any rules or laws. Let's quit making people responsible for their actions. Parents should no longer teach their children to respect authority or any kind of structure. Let's just have complete chaos and pandemonium. Pfft. The whole thing is sickening. Tell the little pansy to wash that shit off his face and get his sissy ass back to school to LEARN!!! His parents should be slapped! That is IF both parents are there. What do you think the chances are that there is no STRONG MALE FIGURE in this future transgender's life?

  2. 2

MMm….they are not adults….it´s school…I´m not sure that teens should be alowed to wear make up at school…

  3. 3

equal rights ALL the way, but stop making it so possible for people to ridicule you.

  4. 4

I'll say it again….I'm open and proud of my gayness….BUT it is NOT normal for a man to be wearing makeup. That is icky poo poo. When will we start realizing this is NOT OK.

  5. 5

Ok well the girls in our school get detention for wearing yoga pants, yes PANTS, so equal rights for all Right?

  6. 6

Being gay is not a free pass to act like a jerk. People don't like jerks gay or straight. This is another fact of human nature. People who act extreme are not helping the gay community they are hurting it. If he wants to help the gay community he should be gay and be the the most popular and loved like at the school. Now that would be a help.

  7. 7

geez, kids here in red deer alberta canada can wear make up, dresses, watever if there males and knowone gives a fuck. sure they get laughed at. but never suspended.

  8. 8

The only thing awful about this story is his application of eyeshadow.

  9. 9

Re: -Undead- – Perez doesn't care unless it's a gay issue. He doesn't want Equal Right for All - just special rights for gays & lesbians.

  10. 10

Why should a male or female be allowed to wear such heavy makeup at school???

  11. 11

Also by advocating equal rights for "all" it could also be taken as including peadophiles, zoophiles, bigamists etc. Find a new phrase.

  12. 12

I have nothing against gays, lesbian or bi, I support people who are in love to be together. But this teen is underage, and there are kids in school who are suppose to learn, educate themselves and just be regular teens. When you are not an adult you can't make decisions wisely especially when it comes to sexuality. I don't think any kids in that school want to be influenced. this kid definitely sets a bad example, he should be learning not making himself looking like a clown. School has rules so follow them!

    13

Maybe they suspended him because he matched his eye shadow to his shirt. Yuck.

  14. 14

I am a proud Gay man and I am all in for equality
But there is a time and place for this kinda behavior. Personally I think this guy is just asking for attention and got it.

  15. 15

This is school! not fucking Drag Race!

    16

his make up is hideous. i'm so sick and tired of gay divas shoving their homosexuality in everyones faces looking ridiculous and then are shocked to be suspended, made fun of, etc. WE GET IT. youre gay. cool no one cares. must they constantly be the center of attention?

  17. kj591 says – reply to this

    17

Re: kj591 – and a disclaimer: not all gay people are like that. i'm talking about the divas.

  18. 18

kids should be allowed to look as ridiculous as they want no matter what their sexual orientation

  19. 19

Re: Shelah – AMEN! I think we need to stop sugar coating all of this. Being Gay Doesn't mean that you have a hall pass to do whatever you want. Perez, I love you and I think you're great, but they are children. Children need to have guidelines & rules. School is School! And if the boy with make up on in his class is a distraction to my child who is there to learn, then is that fair? My child won't be getting an EQUAL opportunity at learning.

  20. 20

I'm so fed up with fucking gay people wanting this and that. you think everything should be about you. well, guess what? it's not!!!! get the fuck over yourselves!!! and this guy deserves to be suspended, he should NOT wear make up because he's still in school and also, because he's a guy for fuck's sake!!!

  21. 21

Dreadful? You sound like some spinster from the 40's! You are not hip nor interesting. Your poor little uneducated self just keeps spinning out poorly written, STOLEN headlines from other people's newstreams. Ever heard of learning something?

  22. 22

school is for learning! …..not for expressing your gayness or slutiness in the girls (goes both ways Perez - not all about the gays - AGAIN)

you can do that after 3pm…….he is just trying to cause shit so his mommy can sue the school and they can get our hard earned tax dollars…..seriously????

THIS IS NOT CELEBRITY NEWS - GAY AGENDA TIME AGAIN PEREZ.

  23. 23

Re: -Undead- – there should be a dress code for everyone…..

don't sucked into Perez's gay agenda.

  24. 24

Re: beckeboo – not during school which is for learning you moron….our tax dollars pay for it…..not this kid starting a lawsuit.

  25. 25

I noticed your next posting has the comments "off." What's the matter? You don't want to hear reality with two gay stories in a row?

Makeup on a male at school is a distraction and that's what he was suspended for. No different from any other behavior that distracts the kids away from what they are there to do.

  26. 26

If something becomes disruptive to the school's learning environment, students can and will be reprimanded for it. School has a legislation of it's own and it has to be that way, to protect children and their learning. Unfortunately, students will have to make compromises, if they want to wear makeup, offensive clothing, dresses…whatever…this is why there are strict dress codes and uniforms in some schools! To avoid these "gray area" situations. And believe me, a lot of schools let a lot of things slide…this is just one publicized scenario where it didn't. I had all kinds of whores and weirdos getting away with "expressing" themselves at my school.

  27. 27

Wearing eyeshadow on a dude is just asking for thugs to beat you up in high school. I don't condone it but if you FLAUNT YOUR GAYNESS then you are probably asking for trouble. It's sad.

  28. 28

Make-up is for GIRLS NOT GAY BOYS PERIOD!!!!!! If you're in a band or goth then yes you can wear make up but c mon this really is getting ridiculous. We all accept the gay community and let them do what they want to do. There comes a point though were the gay community needs to realize they are going tooo extreme. This MAN…..yes he is a man who is gay, SHOULD NOT be wearing eye liner to get noticed more. Halloween comes once a year…..go crazy then. Every day this man should not be looking like this.

  29. 29

This dude did it for attention. He is not a transgender, dragqueen, etc. He did it to get shock value in which is what he did. I care not who wears make up. However, make up was created for females. Anyone else wearing it is just doing it for show for example Adam Lambert.

  30. 30

Well then quit with the bullying issues.
Fine, the kid can wear makeup and then when he gets his ass kicked, u will be complaining about the school not stepping in earlier (which they did).
Can't win, and its not "equal rights," its trouble makers trying to make a name for themselves. Follow the dress code u little brat! Schools for learning, not to make gay statements

  31. 31

"EQUAL RIGHTS FOR ALL" what happened to Stacey's rights though?

  32. 32

Sooo because you're gay the rules don't apply to you? In that case, let's all be gay!
Make-up in school is already a big enough distraction as it is….and when a boy wears it, it's an even bigger distraction in an academic setting. Just because you're gay doesn't make you above the law. If the gays want equal rights, then quit acting like arrogant idiots about it.

  33. 33

This kid wanted to stand out and make a spectacle of himself. They did him a favor before he got ridiculed or even worse. If a straight kid wore that shit he would be sent home as well. Equal rights for all needs to be changed for special rights for gays

  34. 34

He shouldn't be wearing eye shadow at school or anywhere else as a matter of fact just look at him, he looks ridiculous.

  35. 6one9 says – reply to this

    35

School is to “““““““““““““get an education!!!
It's not suppose to be a `fucking fashion show!!
Get your A's first “““““` then play dress`up “““““““` after school!

  36. 36

There are, and should be, rules at institutions like schools. You cannot walk around with your shirts off, wear ridiculously short skirts, curse, play loud music in the hallways, get up and talk to your friends in the middle of class, etc.

All of those things create disturbances and distract from what should be the mission of the school: educating kids. A homosexual kid with a face painted like a tart is going to create a distraction at a high school, just like the town slut dressed up in a see through blouse would. He knew that. Frankly, the guy sounds like the worse kind of attention whore.

What about the rights of the majority of students to go through their schoolday without this type of distrubance? Quite frankly, like so many other minorities, gays don't seem to want equal treatment, but special treatment. They object the loudest when treated like everybody else.

  37. 37

Re: Shelah – I get that you're trolling (god I hope so, because if you're really this dumb, humanity is doomed), but come on. It's either ok for everyone to do it, or for no one to do it. You can't punish this kid for wearing makeup if a bunch of "punk" emo bitches are wearing it too. Public schools have turned into such a joke. Kids don't learn jack shit, other than to criticize their peers. My kids will most definitely be going to private schools, thanks.

  38. 38

Here's the problem — make-up is for woman, that's the way it's always been and that's they way it should be. Woman are meek and simple, effiminate. When a guy puts on make-up, that makes him weak and simple like a woman — of course he's gonna get teased and beat up and become a distraction! If men start acting like women, then what are the women going to do? This all started because women started acting like men and taking on jobs and leadership and not wearing bras, etc. We need to go back to the way things were, the way nature intended! The men hunt and are powerful and the women stay home and keep things clean and inviting. We have gone WAY off track!!

  39. 39

He says he sometimes wishes he was straight, lmao. Guess he's just exercising his right to express himself, you must be really proud of this gay freak.

  40. 40

Re: Shelah – Agreed! This world is falling apart!! It all started when woman got the right to vote; all that power they were able to start changing systems. Now they are political positions and ceos (chairMAN — how did that ever happen??) As soon as women started acting like men, that made men think they can act like women. Now our kids are doing it!! Like you said, now they are changing genders. We have got to put our foot down and get back to order of things.

  41. 41

If freaks can express how they feel and attempt to corrupt the normal people, then we normal people can express our dislike of it. You can't have it both ways you GLBTWhinner Commmunity.

  42. 42

And another thing… This behaviour is what fuels bullying and gay hate. Stop trying to be hated. Be a normal gay person like the rest of the gays that I know. Stop with the attitude and the ZORO snapping of the fingers and you might get some respect.

  43. 43

The schools I went to always had dress/hair/makeup codes. We had no choice. If we didn't follow the school rules we would get suspended or expelled altogether. This had nothing to do with gender or sexual orientation. School rules were rules and everyone had to abide. No exceptions for anyone!

  44. 44

Great for the school!!!! We live in a Lord Of The Flies society now, where these kids pretty much rule. It is ridiculous, I am proud of that school for taking a stand.

  45. 45

No, this is wrong. He got kicked out because his make-up didn't match his ensemble. Who the hell wears green with purple? He better watch next season of Ru's Drag Race for some pointers!

  46. Rohan says – reply to this

    46

So Mario, one day when I see you walking around LA I am going to beat the living shit out of you. You might not like it but it's MY RIGHT to be able to do whatever I feel like. I know there will be consequences but I still have the RIGHT to make my choice! Equal rights for all?

  47. 47

Don't have to be gay to wear that style of make up. The question is, if he where straight would he had gotten away with it? Prolly so.

  48. 48

Re: Rohan – Wish I lived closer so I could help you.

  49. 49

Mario shoots himself and his cause in the foot again!

because him wearing make up is a gay issue right? No! Straight guys wear eyeline and bronzer these days. If this boy was straight he'd still be suspended so THIS IS NOT A GAY ISSUE! stop hijacking everything with your agenda.

and kids are at school to LEARN. Its not a fashion parade. This is why school uniforms are important.

  50. 50

Though I am gay myself, let's just call this for what it is. This kid wants attention. Perez, I'll say it again. You're hurting our cause much more than you are helping. I'm pleading with you to stop trying to carry the weight of this community on your shoulders. You're seriously going to try and make an issue over a boy wearing make-up? Stories like this are why people get turned off of gay people. Why is it that every day you post a story about a gay person who is just a victim? Why not post something about a strong gay person? You' playing the victim card every day is both insulting and hurtful to the gay community. Stop. I can't imagine all of the negative feedback you get from fellow gay people about hurting your cause, yet you choose to do it anyway. It's destructive.

  51. @v@ says – reply to this

    51

Either be consistent across the board regarding make-up, or allow it across the board.
I don't think this case is a gay issue; the only reason the punk kid probably got away with it is that the principal didn't see him. The mother states that they were already told 'no make-up', yet this boy decided to wear it anyway because he saw that punk kid did, so he disregarded the rule and happened to get caught. Personally, some guy wearing makeup wouldn't have 'distracted' or phased me or my mathematics whatsoever in grade 10, 11 or 12. Schools do need some rules, but I'm not certain that this one matters one way or the other.

  52. 52

Why is everyone deliberately overlooking the main issue here? Casey - learn basic grooming before you venture into the world of manscara. Straighten up your eyebrows, decide what to do with that scruff on your cheeks, and comb your hair. Once you are groomed - have someone teach you how to apply eyeshadow so you don't look like a damned nightmare. Groom first! And for Pete's sake: BLEND!

  53. Sgirl says – reply to this

    53

Honestly Perez, you make this shit worse. This boy should not be wearing makeup neither should a punk rock boy. This is stupid. Of course people will pick on this kid if he wears girl's makeup. Enough of this shit is enough. He should have been suspended. I am sure he was told not to wear the shit on his face and disobeyed. I would suspend him too! You can be or wear whatever the fuck you want but be ready for the consequences because there is a consequence for acting and looking like a freak. If you don't want the consequence don't do it. Its not a free for all. My dress code doesn't say the kids can't go to school naked but if they do, don't you think that would be a problem. The code of conduct doesn't say you can't take a shit in the middle of the floor in your classroom but don't you think there would be consequences if you did? Come one. This kid is an idiot, deserves to be suspended and needs to knock his shit off.

  54. 54

teenagers should be allowed to look as ridiculous as they want no matter what their sexual orientation is

  55. 55

Re: mishmish – Well dumbass, by telling this boy not to wear makeup is also violating HIS right to learn. How do you know that he just wants attention? How do you know he doesn't want to learn? You don't, because you don't know him personally. Your kid isn't any more special because he/she looks "normal". In fact, it's the "normal" kids who bully people to death and never face consequences. Get your priorities in order!

  56. 56

Re: Providence – Are women not human, asshole?? Should we take their right to vote away from them because sexist pigs like you can't handle it? Success knows no gender! Women are great workers and leaders too; and they don't have to be meek and quiet if they don't want to! Your primitive view on women has no place in America. We are no longer living in an agricultural society in the biblical times, nor do we live under shariah law, you conservative bag of shit.

  57. 57

Re: Shelah – Little pansy?? Sissy ass?? Your attitude promotes bullying and violence in schools and elsewhere. Who is to say he isn't a strong person? He's very brave because he does what other boys are afraid to do. THAT demonstrates strength, not acting like some obnoxious jock who bangs every girl in school. Politicians are authority figures and Wall Street is a structure. Does that mean they deserve respect? NO. It isn't cut and dry; and if you really slapped his parents, you would be a "little pansy" and a "sissy ass" in jail.

  58. 58

Hey, I wass suspended in high school for dying my hair blue when I was a teen and I was straight, and also in another school they didnt let me be the whole day cause I wore gym pants since it was freaking cold and they said "girls wear skirts"…. I bet if I was gay I could have just "boohoo" and say they discriminated me, right??. Gosh… gay agenda.

  59. 59

Re: Midnight Empress – I am not saying that women aren't human! I'm just saying that ever since women started leaving the home and wearing pants, etc — they sent a message that its OK for women to act like men. If you look at history, everything was fine up until the early 1900s when suddenly gender stuff got all muddled. And now look what we have! Kids don't know what they are suppose to act like because there are examples of men acting like women and women acting like men everywhere! I think it's OK for women to get into politics and management, but they shouldn't wave it around it everyone's faces — that's whats confusing kids. If women are going to act like men, they should do it smaller companies or local govt, but not something public.

  60. 60

Re: Providence – Thats not true. Men in other countries do wear make up (and are not gay) and it also in ancient times males used make up. Its just the fashion of our times that make up on males is not suitabe due to specific jobs (ie. a lawyer inside a court). Truth is that the kid has the right to make up if he wants to, but it would be good if he does it OUTSIDE school time. School is to go to learn, not to do a parade. (kinda ironic coming from me who dyed my hair blue, but it was once and lesson learnt). He should have just sucked it up and follow the rules.

  61. 61

Re: bleahf – Exactly! And you probably learned your lesson from dying your hair blue and stopped doing it right? And as you said, you turned out straight. So it works! We can't keep letting gay people dictate the rules or all of society will fall apart. If they would have let you dye your hair then, you could be dying it now and looking even more like a freak! It's because as kids, all we have are bad examples to look up to and we think that that is ok to do.

  62. 62

I would of suspended him too, who cares if hes a boy, girl, gay or straight he looks RIDICULOUS!!

  63. 63

Re: Providence – Honestly thats just ridiculous. Nothing was fine until the 1900s. Just because women were tought to live certain kind of life, it didnt mean it was fine and actually many women did work even before that period of time as nurses and teachers. It was only when they decided to have kids that they had to stay at home and take care of them, even tho in many cases just the nannies were the ones who would raise the kids. There have been and there are many single mothers who have to raise male kids, and not because they are the only one paternal figure it means they will be gay. A friend of mine was raised by his mom cause his dad died to cancer, she had to do everything, work, pay the bills, go here and there apart from raising him AND he ended up being straight…(sometimes too macho lol) and became a neurologist. So as you can see, not only he had his PhD thanks to his mother who would work her @ss off but he is also straight. Stop being so ignorant.

  64. 64

Re: Providence – Well, I stopped dying it cause I didnt want to get suspended again!. When I went to university, it was public and had no dressing codes or rules whatsoever about how to dress up. But I highly doubt that Im straight just cause I followed high school rules.

  65. 65

Dress codes are there for reasons. 1. To prevent distraction so people can focus on their education. Obviously this guy caused a lot of distraction if he was suspended. There are reasons kids can't wear certain things, dye their hair certain colors, have visible piercings or tattoos, regardless of their sexual orientation, Perez. 2. Dress codes are in the work place. I know that you, a person who has no real job, won't understand this. But I can't wear certain things or express myself in certain ways while I'm at the office. I could be terminated. Sure, I could sue and cause a big uproar, but I understand why the rules are there. Organizations and even schools have a certain look and reputation to uphold and young men wearing make up does NOT support that look. Sorry. When you live in reality, and not behind a blog, you have to conform to some standards, whether you are gay, straight, lesbian, etc. You, and Lady Gaga are not the norm of this world. Sorry.

  66. 66

Re: Oh Resist Her – I hope you realize your kids in private schools would never get away with what this young man did. Boys can't wear make up to private schools.

  67. 67

Shoot, I am a female who used to color my hair (with the help of my father to get the places on the back of my head). One time I colored what was supposed to be a strawberry blond and ended up with a big magenta streak down the back of my head. I was immediately sent home until this could be fixed.

I don't care about his sexuality but his makeup is horrible and he should be sent to classes to learn how to properly apply it. Or maybe female classmates would be willing to help.

  68. 68

Re: Oh Resist Her – Yeah… Oh sure you'll be able to pay for private school. I'm sure the upper one percent would love a litter of your little mouth breathers stinking up the room with their kids. Keep the fantasies coming, everyone needs a happy place. Now get back to your job, I think I hear your pimp/daddy calling you. Pfft. Private school indeed. By the way, braindead, the 'punk' kids shouldn't be wearing it either.

  69. 69

Re: Midnight Empress – LOL… was that the best you could do? really?

  70. 70

Well anyway fucking losers, everything you are saying is stupid if girls can wear makeup, so can guys there is no rule against it, you just think it is wrong because that is what you were taught growing up. It is a cultural based thing indeed, socially learned of what is right and wrong in our society, so you think it is wrong, but go to another country and they would all embrace him with open arms :) . Closed minded fools. Choose your words wisely, also all you other people he is not a attention whore, are you fucking kidding me, you guys are so ethnocentric and I am sure you do not know what this means by your choice of talk. This is comment one :) ….Hello, how about you shut your close minded ass up. One thing you do not know this lovely principal is so in the wrong. I have a mentally disabled brother that wanted to join the football team when he was a coach there and he called him a little queer and laughed at him, someone who is mentally disabled, my brother cried for weeks. He has the right to express himself and just because you are older does not make you wiser, I can really tell by your use of words that you are not :) . Another thing a male figure does not have anything to do with his choice of dress, you’re a fucking idiot. And he is not transgender he is gay, you fucking know nothing maybe you should go to college or something useful. And wow if people did not stand up for what they believed in a lot of shit would still be going on like slavery, because back then were the white people not the authority?

Let him wear make-up if he wants! I see no reason that this would be the worst thing that could happen in schools now days. If he wants to bring himself out more, let him go as is. I saw worse in the 70's

As a pharmacist, I could honestly write a book!! You'd never guess what I'd see in only 1 day at work!! And, I worked as a "Floater Pharmacist" in the Myrtle Beach, SC area! Moms, do NOT allow your teens (if they're by any chance virgins) to go to Myrtle Beach for their Spring Breaks! No telling what they'll show up with after only 1 week there!! No joke, why would I lie? I don't lie! I have no reasons to tell lies!!

  76. 76

Re: Lovemerights – Though I admire your attitude to civil rights, why do you assume that your brother should have made the team? Everyone has to try out for the team and those who do not make the cut do not make the cut. The same goes for cheerleading or any other sport. Why should your brother be treated differently?

Re: joethehobo – Hi, :) He would not let him even try out for the team and honestly I know my brother cannot play football he is mentally disabled with the mind of a 10 year old, but that is not the point for a teacher to not even take that into account and embarrass him in front of everyone, and know he has a disability is just wrong. He was not even given a chance to try, and he had no right to say the things he said, that goes to him talking to any student in that fashion. He is a horrible person and has got in trouble with many people for things he says. But, I did not say my brother should be treated different, but there is a way of dealing with people with disabilities and that is not the way to deal. He should have talked to him about it one and one and tried to explain to him the situation. But, I do get where you are coming from, I did not really go into my point on that and where I was trying to make the point in my argument. I do not think he could make the team, but he should have been at least given a chance to try or talked to about it in a different way.

Told ya guys, gays don't want equality they want special treatment and attention..seriously it was 3 days with INSCHOOL suspension. We're basically teaching kids that can do whatever they want if they deem a rule to be stupid..Wash the fucking makeup off and go to class..You're there to learn not run in a drag queen race

God! I'm gay, but I'm so tired of that kind of people!
A man should be man, not some girly pansy!
    Ugh.. so tired of them..

  81. 81

Perez you are gay so you would think this is cruel.

  82. 82

Re: NookiesWA – Exactly, this is why we have to stop all this special treatment! It is this snowball effect, first women, then people of color, now gays — soon there will be no order left in America. Men need to stop acting like girls and girls need to stop pretending to be men. Everything has it's place!

  83. 83

Re: Chrisu – You can't be gay and not act like a girl — men only sleep with women. If you are sleeping with men, then you are acting like a girl. Somewhere things went wrong and you've gotten mixed up. Look at the role models in your life. Did you grow up with weak men? Maybe strong women in the workforce? This warped the way you see gender.

  84. 84

Providence the order in America will be perfect. Ignorant people like you will be in their place; at the bottom. Honestly I don't get why people are so whiney and weak. Its just fucking make-up if that distracts you; you have far greater problems. (also just so you know in nature the males are usually brightly colored and flamboyant as opposed to the females, the peacock is a prime example of this)

Re: likewhocares – A distraction, really? Tons of guys wore makeup at my high school and guess what? Nobody gave a fuck. I went to a good, high performing school, and believe it or not something as minor as people dressing a certain way or wearing makeup did not change that. People are making way too big of a deal out of this, as if makeup on someone's face is gonna lead the school to some sort of downfall. It's only when people start making a big deal out of it that it becomes an issue. People get away with way worse in high school.

Re: Lovemerights – I did not know that your brother wasn't given the chance to try out for the team. You are right; that is injustice. I didn't mean to sound insensitive, as I can't imagine what it's like growing up with a disabled family member. I must have misread your post. For what it's worth, it sounds like your brother is lucky to have you.

Re: Providence – I don't understand if your post is a joke or not. If it is, thank you. If not, your views are so ridiculous and immoral that someone assumed you were joking.

  88. 88

lol. I'm a gay man and this makes me ashamed
