But staying the course isn't going to do them any favors. They need to start making a splash in the ratings if they are going to have any hope of staying in flight on ABC.

Christina Ricci's Pan Am, while getting a five episode order last week, is still in danger of getting canned, drawing 5.24 mil last night with a 1.8 rating. Par the course, but not stellar enough to guarntee it's safety.

Meanwhile, ABC's other freshman drama Once Upon A Time held up, with 11.4 million total viewers and a 3.7 rating, tying with The Simpsons. Finally, Desperate Housewives isn't going out with such a bang, bringing in only 8.7 million and a 2.8 rating. They could do much better.

Still, could be worse….

I tried it and still am not sure why it didn't work for me, but the cast was just kind of meh….I didn't find it that interesting. Again, I guess it was the cast. None of the characters were that interesting.

I like it - but it took a week or two. A lot of people at my office watch it, too. Problem is, there are so many decent shows competing on the more extended cable networks on Sunday nights now - the former Big Three need to reassess what is a hit, whats stable, and whats toast.

abc is so fucking stupid! of course it's doing bad it's FOLLOWING desperate housewives and people have been over that for years. if they could get their heads out of their asses they would realize it would work better on a weeknight!

I love Pan Am! I love that like Mad Men it is interesting without being about High School, or College, or Housewives! It has a proper story line and I really like it and really like the acting…. ABC sort it out, get people to watch this show and they will stay! Air the first episodes again during the week, offer people money to watch it haha but once they've seen one, like me, they'll want to keep going! xx

It took a few times for me too, and I really like it now…also LOVE Once Upon a Time. Networks don't give a show enough time to develop a following, and when there is a threat of the show not surviving, people stop watching it b/c they don't want to get invested. Networks kill off some of their best shows before they have a chance….
