DOMA Repeal Push Gains Strength In Washington And California!

We're getting SO CLOSE!!!!!

Last week, we were absolutely THRILLED to announce that the Senate Judiciary Committee voted to move forward with a bill THAT WOULD REPEAL THE DEFENSE OF MARRIAGE ACT!

As a reminder, DOMA "allows states not to recognize same-sex marriages performed in other states and provides a federal definition for 'marriage' that excludes same-sex couples."

Now, we're hearing that the push for a DOMA repeal is gaining strength in both Washington and California!

Washington's Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jay Inslee is showing his support for the cause, and according to his spokesperson, he's referring to the DOMA repeal as "the next logical step." WONDERFUL!

As for California, Governor Jerry Brown and San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee are urging Congress to repeal DOMA, and they're referring to it as "a strain on our common values." YES!

Here's what Gov. Jerry Brown had to say about it:

"Californians in these marriages deserve to be treated the same by the federal government and other states as Californians in other legal marriages."

This is all positively fantastic! We're so excited to be headed so strongly in the right direction, and we CANNOT wait until DOMA is officially repealed once and for all!!!!!!!!

ROFL What a fucking idiot you are. Republicans control the house still, this won't happen.
Also, next year we'll probably have the senate too, so again: NOT HAPPENING.

The only way this will get repealed will be if the Supreme Court does it, which it won't since we have the Supreme Court on our side too.

As if things in this country aren't bad enough as it is now… If this bullshit passes America will be in such bad shape that it will never be able to make a comeback to anything worthwhile.

your agenda seems to be plugging along, but why does you anti bullying campaign NOT include GAY CHILD RAPE. Seriously is there any bullying more violent than an adult male anally rapeing a 10 year old child. COME on peeerex admit it, not every gay thing/person is good.

Just because there are some bad "gay people" doesn't mean there aren't "good gay people" this isn't bullshit it needs to happen. This is America the land of the free. People should be treated equally and church and state need to remain separated. Just sayin. I hope it gets repealed as well as others.
