After Watching 50/50, Cancer Patient Asks Joseph Gordon-Levitt Out On A Date!

| Filed under: Film FlickersMedia MinuteLove LineInspirationYouTubeJoseph Gordon-Levitt

After seeing 50/50, movie goers have been touched by its message towards cancer.

One woman, Lindsey Miller, saw the movie and gained the courage to ask its star out on a date!

The 26 year old was diagnosed with cancer in 2010 and she admits dating has been rough. So she decides to give online dating a try (gasp) and asks Joseph Gordon-Levitt for a coffee date via Youtube.

Gordon-Levitt plays a man who is told he has cancer in his 20s and the film documents his trials.

The film is semi-autobiographical as the writer, Will Reiser, was told he had cancer while he was young.

Miller admits that her request may sound like Make A Wish but she'll settle for something small. She also keeps a journal of her journey through cancer treatment.

Check out the video above and watch Lindsey ask Joseph out on a date!

Do U think he'll say yes?

Aww she's a cutie and a sweetie pie! And he must feel some compassion after starring in a movie like that, right? GO OUT WITH HER DOOD!!

  3. 3

Celebrities, be very afraid. Nobodys the world over are attempting to infiltrate your life thru passive blackmail all with the help of Youtube.

  4. 4

He better say yes!! If he doesn't, he better have a DAMN good reason not to!

  5. 5

i think / hope he will accept , and see this demand as an honor. That lady is strong and couragous.

Re: Truth_Is_A-Virus – Because you speak from experience? Haha, idiot.

Haha that's cute! She's got some balls! I think he will definitely accept. Whether he really wants to go on the date or not who knows? But I'm sure he will if it gets to him. He's always seemed like a very nice. I'm crossing my fingers for her!

    that's just sad.
Going out with her could be a really cute publicity stunt, but really.. what would she have achieved??
She should find some nice guy from the real world, not an actor she is crushing on because of a charactor he once played. Making a connection with another person can be really difficult, but this looks to me like a bublble waiting to be burst, one way or the other.

This emotional black mail being used to shame celebrities into doing something is horrible and I wish it would stop. This is very low and selfish of people to do. There is no reason why he should accept this request and for the posters on her to support this is naive.

I really hope he does this for her. One of my best friend's Ex's was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. He's young, suffers from depression, and feels that dating is pointless because no one will want to go out with someone whose prognosis is less than stellar. He lives with nothing on his walls and has a really hard time enjoying what time he has left. If JGL will go on this date with this sweet young woman, it would definitely make her day. I'm not one for encouraging the intrusion upon celebrities private lives, but people often forget about the older people who suffer from cancer. I think they deserve a dream to come true too.

Aw, what a sweet girl. She seems really nice, and Jospeh seems like a good guy so I can't really see him saying no to this. If he does or if he doesn't, much luck Lindsey. Get well.

Re: KanuckGirl – That's incredibly sad, I feel for your friend. I really hope he gets to do most of the things he wants to do with the time he has left. Much luck to your friend as well.

He pretty much has no choice but to say 'yes' now - if he wants to keep his career. I really can't think of any way he'd be able to "gracefully decline".

Netgear is right, also. But, good for this lady and all, posting her dreams on YouTube. Why not? She knows her chances of him saying yes are VERY high since this is so public and because of her 'situation' - so she took advantage.

Re: KanuckGirl – I wish your friend's ex the very best for his life. Perhaps he just needs a little help seeing all the beauty in this world. It isn't all about dating - I realize that romance is essentially what every human strives for but sometimes it just doesn't happen. I also believe it won't happen when you are so focused on [it happening].

Maybe finding someone that is looking more for a friend and companion to experience life with, would be more up your friend's alley. Always has potential to blossom & even if it doesn't, you see the world with an incredible new friend.

These situations are so awkward, it's like Mila Kunis and the marine again they have insane schedules but will be demonised forever if they don't go.

  16. 16

eventually this will be put to a stop. but he will probably have to accept. maybe every celebrity should have to do it once. then they're free to say no.

  17. 17

Betty White said no and there was no backlash. I hope people would offer any celebrity the same courtesy.

  18. 18

It's not like he has to publicly acknowledge it.

  19. 19

she is adorable. I would SO date her!!!!
