Breaking Dawn Breaks Box Office Records This Weekend

| Filed under: Film FlickersTwilightBusiness BlitzRobert PattinsonKristen StewartTaylor LautnerKellan LutzAshley Greene

Neither are we.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 was a monster hit this weekend, becoming the fifth biggest opening in box office history.

What? It wasn't THE biggest opening?

Making $139.5 million domestically and $283.5 million worldwide, it brought in an 11% boost since last year's Eclipse.

Meanwhile, the number 2 film, Happy Feet Two is being described as a "disaster," opening with just $22 million - only half of what the 2006 original made. The fact that the movie was pretty costly with its 3D effects, this is a huge fail for Warner Bros.

Whomp whomp!

We know we don't even have to ask, but what did U see this weekend??

Breaking Dawn did not disappoint. Loved it !!!

What records did it break? The record for not breaking the record for highest opening weekend gross? Your story declaring Avatar a flop proved how little you know about the entertainment industry.

It didn't break any records though. It fell short of all the weekend and daily records that Harry Potter set. The title isn't correct. It simply was number one at the box office this weekend, which obviously was going to happen.

I admit, I bought a ticket for Breaking Dawn but only because The Hunger Games trailer played before it.

"There's a lot of talk that we're going to beat them. We are going against Breaking Dawn, but the big headlines come Monday morning will be, "Descendants Kicks the Hell Out of Breaking Dawn.' " - George Clooney. Oh really now? Oh George, you're too full of yourself. LoL

I saw Breaking Dawn Part 1 and Immortals. Both are great films, but Immortals was better.

it was kind of disappointing for me because, as a lot other people, i was expecting a lot more from what i read on the book. i think it felt short. they should hire HP directors so we wouldnt miss any detail!….btw, i went to the movies on friday night and watched Breaking Down (obvs) AND Happy Feet…and if i have to choose between this 2…ill choose Happy Feet. if i have to go back and watch 1 of them ill watch Happy Feet over and over!

It's not going to touch Avatar's record.
Neither is it going to touch HP or Titanic.

And if it does rank above Titanic, then the 3D version will gross more, still.

I'm not surprised about this.because Breaking Dawn will never beat Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows:Part 2's record.Total Potterhead.lol.
