It's that time of the year again! The time to watch CNN and cry our eyes out as each hero's story is presented.

But this year will be extra special because Dancing With the Stars' winner and American hero JR Martinez will be co-hosting with Anderson Cooper!

They'll be telling the stories of CNN's chosen ten heroes along with Will.i.am, Christy Turlington Burns, and Kurt Warner.

We're personally extra excited to see more of JR. The veteran has been a major voice for the burn community after suffering his own during his time in Iraq.

We know UR pretty excited about it too so get your iPhone calendars out and set a memo on December 11. That's when they'll air the main event, but if you're really wanting a good cry or just more JR goodness, here's something else…

On Thanksgiving night, CNN will air a Where Are They Now special with JR, Rainn Wilson, and George Lopez as they follow up with heroes of past.

We know you all wanna watch Charlie Brown, but this is definitely something worth recording!!

was he famous before he got burned? I'm confused about this guy I never heard of him before until i saw him on Dancing.

  2. 2

Same here , looks like the guy was on a soap opera b4 dancing.

Is it just me; i know he got burned in the war, but is he hard to look at?

WHY do we have to look at that ugly face all the fucking time???? he's like a nightmare that won't go away, well, not as ugly as Kim Whore Kardasshian

the sad thing is that he thinks he's being celebrated by tv, but he's being exploited and used as a freak show for entertainment purposes… sad…

I look forward to hearing the stories - JR's has radiated such happiness throughout the competition and truly deserved to win. However, I am honestly sick of DWTS as it got to cheesy towards the end - too many causes and my heartstrings were pulled at a tad too much so I had to turn the channel to happier content.

Re: ParisIsBurning – Nice to know that you appreciate soldiers who have sacrificed for their (and our) country, whether you agree with the war or not, the soldiers always deserve our support.

WoW - Great idea !! And thank you 4 your military service JR - Salute !!

Thank God he won over that useless Kardashian.

He is a great guy and all, but he is not a hero. You can't be a hero when you involved in an illegal war, sorry to burst your bubbles. The people of Iraq did not threaten or attack us, so what exactly did the soldiers do over there that was heroic?

Its' really nice to see hollywood celebrating an actual hero in every sense of the word.

Re: ParisIsBurning – looking at your profile picture makes me think you are even worse to look at and you were born with that face. Sad to know all you see is whats on the surface.

@Paris and the others who can't resist snarkyness. Wow. I agree that these wars have been pointless, but don't blame the troops. He had, in one word, courage Nearly 3 dozen surgeries and kept going when others wold have given up. He had a dream, despite his burns - to act, and he got a soap opera gig without a hint of embarrassment. He also has been a spokesperson for a group that builds homes for free for vets much more badly mired than he. And yes, he was on DWTS. no, not my favorite show, but he won because he deserved it. And he has a great, honest smile. Pretty heroic guy in my book, and I'll be watching him on CNN. No one's making you watch him - anywhere. If you can Bly look at perfection, look somewhere else, which I'm guessing is not in the mirror.
