Prince William Is A Real Life Hero! Rescues Shipwrecked Russians At Sea

Disney couldn't have created a better Prince Charming!

He's not only handsome, sweet, and funny. He's a real life hero too!

While serving as a flight lieutenant in the Royal Air Force, Prince William helped rescue some Russian seamen whose cargo vessel sank in the Irish Sea.

He was the co-pilot in a four-man rescue helicopter crew who found the men after responding to a mayday call that went out around 2 am when the vessel's hull cracked.

The team saved two men and have since been out on the hunt for five others who remain missing. The body of one of the crewmembers has already been recovered.

We wish them the best of luck in their rescue mission. What a harrowing experience!

Disney DID NOT CREATE THIS prince.
Disney created the IDEA OF A PRINCE CHARMING.
Don't you dare associate Disney with the ideologies of Prince William.

Prince William was born into a family of phenomenal wealth & privilege, and could have chosen to live a life of excess. We could easily have read for years about his arrests, rehabs, seen pics of his girlfriend's "wardrobe malfunctions", pics of him stumbling out of bars, etc. Instead, he chose to attend & graduate from University, do charitable work, earn a pilot's license and work for the coast guard to serve & protect, marry his girlfriend of several years (who is also a University graduate and by all accounts a lovely person) and live a decent, upstanding life. Look at American youth who have extreme wealth and the fantastic contributions that they've made: Kardashians, Hiltons, Lohan, Jersey Shore cast, Spears, etc. So before the "Will bashing" begins, consider instead that he doesn't have to do any of these things and could have just enjoyed his millions, in his castles, for the rest of his life. The fact that the media chooses to report on his activities isn't his fault, nor is it is fault who he was born to. It's pretty clear to me that he's a fine young man who's setting a wonderful example while knowing that all eyes of the world are on him. He also seems to be a decent person who has his feet firmly planted on the ground and who is trying to live as normal a life as possible. He also appears to show that while he was born into enormous privilege, he's trying to demonstrate both personal and social responsibility for it.

    He's not a hero dumbass……that is his job as a rescue pilot…..

What did you think he would be doing?

Does that make every EMT at a car accident a hero?

  4. 4

His Mom would be so proud of both her sons

Re: Meggie246524 – That is not true. His legacy has always been in the military and he is required to do it just like his father and grandfather did.

The royal family children are not allowed to sit around and not do charity work…..it is required….

Look up your information before you write your paragraphs of shit.

Looks just like DI in this pic

Re: Kim's Saggy Ass - You are right that there is an expectation that children from the royal family will get an education and serve in some military capacity, Meggie is also right in that William, and his brother do demonstrate a great deal of personal and social responsibility. They could easily avoid duty, but they do not.

re: KIM K's SAGGY ASS: You are incorrect. As per Constitutional Monarchy of the UK, there's no requirement for members of the royal family to enter into any profession. It's a TRADITION and a CHOICE whether or not to participate in this tradition. There's a long history of royalty leading troops in battle, ie: Henry V at Agincourt. The last reigning king to participate in a battle was George II, who fought in the Battle of Dettingen in 1743. George III’s long illness & Queen Victoria’s long reign created a break IN THE TRADITION. For centuries, becoming a career military officer has been the most appropriate profession for any royal WHO FELT IN NEED OF EMPLOYMENT. King William IV joined the Royal Navy & the Duke of Kent had been commander-in-chief of the British forces. Will's CHOICE of the Army is a departure from the TRADITION set by King George V who joined the Navy. His son George VI also served in the Navy & participated in the Battle of Jutland. The Duke of Windsor served in the Army during World War I, and Queen Elizabeth II served in the Auxiliary Territorial Service during World War II. Charles CHOSE his military service in the Navy, while his brother Prince Andrew CHOSE a career as a naval officer and a helicopter pilot during the Falklands War. Does your little mind now understand? Royals entering the military is a choice, not a requirement.

Sorry Kim K's saggy Ass, I have to side with Meggie246524. It would be nice to claim someone like Prince William as our own instead of the crap they keep calling "America's Royalty" like the horrible khardasians, Hilton and etc. I would love to see these people who are famous for nothing do something, other than bitch and moan about how hard their life is in the spotlight. I wish as American's we would stop feeding into their money making machine. It would be a breath of fresh air to have a Prince William type, someone classy, refined and a positive role-model be an ideal for America's youth.

Re: rosebud99 – They can't avoid duty darling because their grandmother would disown them……has happened in the past when the rules were not followed….

So no, Meggie is not right.

@Kim K: Through your numerous posts, it's evident that you simply continue to reiterate your opinion over & over & over again with no new insight, facts or perspectives. I've also noticed that it's very important for you to always have the last word. That's clearly a sign of immaturity which you'll grow out of someday. But if that's all it takes to appease you, that's fine - you can have the last word. Finally, I'll leave you with a parting word of advice: continuing to repeat your opinion over and over while using foul language and trying to belittle others not only reveals your lack of intellect but it also doesn't magically convert your opinion into fact. Something else you'll hopefully grow out of as you age and obtain more life experience and hopefully, an education. Cheers.

I'm sorry this is so ridiculous! So far someone died in this accident and 5 more people are still missing. It's not about Prince William, it's about the finding the missing people. Get your perspectives right. While it's great to see him involved, there are many more people out searching for these people too. RIP to that person and my prayers are with the rest

He is a great example to the rest of Europe's royal offspring, most of whom choose partying around and indulging in all money can buy, instead of doing something useful for society, Diana would be proud indeed. He looks seriously hot in that pic, there's something about a man in uniform with a look of purpose on his face that is so damn sexy…

    Excellent writing Meggie !! I agree …

What an extraordinary role model for young people out there! First, we read about Paris Hilton buying herself a $300k car and then see this wonderful story about such a great young guy. Hopefully positive role models like this will outshine all of the trainwrecked lohans, kardashians, hiltons, etc. out there!
