Wyclef Jean is under fire after new claims against his former charity have arised.

Yele Haiti raised $16 million for relief efforts after the Haiti earthquake.

Reports claim that only 5.1 million went to Haiti relief efforts while some of the money went to Wyclef's family.

The reports also claim that about $350K went to a construction operated by Wyclef's brother in law while another $1 million went to the company Amisphere Farm Labor Inc. that did not file paperwork correctly in Florida to do business.

This company's head recently bought three properties in Florida.

Wyclef continues to deny allegations which first arose in January 2010.

He went on to say the following:

Have we made mistakes? Yes. Did I ever use Yele money for personal benefit? Absolutely not.

Hopefully, for Haiti's sake, he's telling the truth.

That is why, before you donate ANY MONEY, you should check out GuideStar and other Charity rating sites…. to make sure that the Charity is following set guilde lines, has the proper paper work and HOW THE CHARITY HAS USED ITS FUNDS IN THE PAST. Guidestar had not rated his charity at one point because he never summitted the proper paperwork.
