Seth Rogen Forgives Katherine Heigl For Dissing Knocked Up

seth rogen forgives katherine heigl for knocked up comments

Very mature move, Seth!

Waaay back in December '07, Katherine Heigl ran her mouth BIG TIME about the movie Knocked Up, despite the fact that she starred in it.

Here's what she had to say about the movie at the time:

"It paints the women as shrews, as humorless and uptight, and it paints the men as lovable, goofy, fun-loving guys. It exaggerated the characters, and I had a hard time with it, on some days. I'm playing such a bitch; why is she being such a killjoy? Why is this how you're portraying women? Ninety-eight percent of the time it was an amazing experience, but it was hard for me to love the movie."

Both Seth Rogen and director Judd Apatow did NOT appreciate her comments…but it appears that Seth is finally ready to let it go!

Here's what he had to say about it in a recent interview:

"I think that at the time I was offended about it, but since then… I mean, you do so much press that, odds are, you’re going to say something f*cking stupid every once in a while. Of the million things I say every day, 400 of them are stupid as hell [laughs]. And any one of them might wind up in a newspaper or a magazine at any given time. So at this point I’m much more forgiving of that kind of thing."

We think it's great that Seth is ready to move on…but we still think that Katherine should have chosen her words more carefully.

NEVER a good idea to diss UR own movie…isn't that right, Harrison Ford???

I'm not sure I understand why this is so terrible. What she said was true. And, while I would agree that she did in fact read the script before signing on and should have known better, I think she gives an accurate portrayal of this film. So many women are vilified in the media for speaking their true feelings but this is rarely true of a man. Megan Fox spoke her mind about a man notorious for being a sexist pig and cost her career. Why is the sexist pig not chastised and instead Megan Fox is for speaking her mind. Seth and Judd laughed all the way to the bank. If they are so upset why don't they cry their eyes out in their piles of money? Why is it that this woman can't speak her mind but they are celebrated for making crap movies?

A - I kind of agree with her take, but more importantly,
B - If this is how she felt about the character, why did she agree to do the movie? Money and fame? It's her biggest movie to date. That makes her a hypocrite and kind of a prostitute selling out her own morality.

She was right though, the movie wasn't realistic, any woman in her right mind wouldn't A.Sleep with someone like Seth and B. Keep the baby afterwards.

I totally disagree with Katherine. The movie isn't necessarily portraying all women and all men, it's just portraying A woman and A man. I don't understand why people think that just because one person is represented someway, that ALL people in the same category are the same as well.

Katherine Heigl doesn't give a crap either way. Besides, she was RIGHT. Let her have a voice.

  6. 6

what she's saying makes a lot of sense. Is in fact very reflective and intelligent and is a version of the truth Seth and others may not like to hear but its valid.

  7. 7

I think Judd lives in Lala land if he thinks that most of his comedies DO appeal to women. Anytime any one i know wants to watch one of his movies most likely I sit it out cause most of his stuff is not all that funny to begin with.

    But she's an actress…so she's a hypocrite. bfd.

  8. 8

She has a VALID opinion. GTF over it!

  9. 9

I disagree with her opinion. Though it was a funny movie, Seth's character did not strike me as fun-loving as much as the last person I'd ever want to reproduce with.

  10. 10

I never understood why she got heat for saying this in the first place.

  11. 11

Why should she have chosen her words more carefully? She said what she thought, and it obviously didn't hurt the movie's profits any. In this country we are all allowed to give our opinions on things, despite the fact that you seem to think you and gay people are the only ones with that privilege.

  12. 12

I love how she said that AFTER she stared in the movie. Like, why didn't you try to change the script or not star in the film?

  13. 13

I love the movie, but I also find her point valid. That said, the men in this movie are portrayed as lazy idiots with a serious case of arrested development. So in that sense, both sexes came out just as good and bad. More or less.

seth is fat and disgusting, but in Hollywood, he's lovable. same goes with Jason Segel, ew and WTF. More than often, what appears on the pages, appears differently on screen. Also, she needed the gig! Not everybody can do the things they want. Her opinion was so valid.
