The big winner when the Grammy nominations were announced on Wednesday night was Kanye West, who leads the field with 7 nominations. However, the rapper was noticeably snubbed in the Album Of The Year category. Most of his noms came for rap awards.

Adele, on the other hand, is poised to be the golden girl of the Grammys, getting noms in all major categories - including Album, Record and Song Of The Year. In total, the British songstress scored 6 nominations.

Other artists scoring 6 nominations were Bruno Mars and the Foo Fighters.

AND, two of our favorites, Rihanna and Lady GaGa scored nominations for Album Of The Year! Woo hoo! Plus, Katy Perry is up for Record Of The Year for her smash Firework. And Nicki Minaj is up for Best New Artist!

Other faves of ours getting noms include Taylor Swift, Robyn, Foster The People, Amy Winehouse, Avicii, Coldplay and Pink!

I love that Lady GAGA is nominated for Album of the Year, even though Adele will prolly win at least her album was nominated to prove to all you lame haters that her album isnt a flop. Music professionals think its great and I will be super excited if it wins. :)

Why do people listen to Kanye West?
    What am I missing here?

  3. 3

    1. How did Katy Perry get nominated for Firework? That was her worst vocal performance of all her song? (also very stupid lyrics - "do you ever feel, like a plastic bag")
    2. How did Jessie J not get a new artist nomination or pop vocal performance when she can sing circles around Katy Perry.
    3. "Best thing I never had" was a excellent vocal performance and hey guess what? It's a pop song.
The fact that Katy Perry gets nominated every year proves to be the the Grammy's are influenced by charts and sales. Leave that for the MTV awards. The Grammy's should be about people who can ACTUALLY sing!

Re: Terenzo123 – I agree, plus how can firework even be nominated? that album with that song was nominated last year….i dont see why it should get added this year as well.

Nothing Kanye has done this year is grammy worthy. Otis was shit. Agreed about Firework though, it's horrible!

  6. 6

Extremely proud of Robyn and I really hope she takes both of her nominations. It would also be great to see Amy Winehouse recognized again.

  7. 7

Re: Terenzo123 – another reason why Grammy is not as prestigious as before. When you put in 'artists' like Rihanna and Katy Perry - it just loses it credibility!

  8. 8

Adele and Kayne or just Kanye?!! Looks like just Kanye to me

Gaga was only nominated cuz she performed. she's probably paid for her nom for that shitteous album of hers.

  10. 10

You people are insane. He was nominated for Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. The BEST album of the year. Ask Rolling Stone and any other music magazine. It deserves album of the year. It is amazing!

  11. 11

And the Grammy's are a joke.

  12. 12

Wow, this year is going to be a really boring Grammy year. I cannot believe that Rihanna got a nomination for Album of the Year.

I am also surprised that Beyonce only got 2 nominations.

I think album of the year snubs were: Kanye West, Robyn, Beyonce, and the Pistol Annies!!!

Best New Artist snubs: Jessie J, Frank Ocean, and Kreayshawn

I think that the new Grammy rules and breakdown of 20 categories is really lame.

I am happy that Adele got all those nominations, but Bruno Mars for album of the year? C'mon!!!

  13. 13

OMG!!! This is really making me mad! All over the tv and internet is Adele and Kanye leading the noms when ITS ONLY KANYE!!! DAMN!!! Guess the world not going to let him have his moment!! HAHAHAH

  14. 14

Its been deles year and she should win everything! Sorry but I dont get the Kanye west thing…his rapping is just atrocious to my ears. And Gaga shouldnt even turn up. She's had her 15 minutes.

what a pity that there`s no flop of the year award.
that one caca would win with ease…

  17. 17

Re: pie107 – but he's not in the big categories just the shitty rap ones!

  18. 18

Where's Bad Meet's Evil's nomination for best rap album? Best rap put out in a long time.

Both Kanye And Adele Deserve to be nominated, They both worked very hard to be where they are right now, And so do all of the other music artist that were nominated.
Best Of Luck To Everyone On February 12

  21. 21

Adele, Rihanna, and Bruno Mars deserved their nominations! Their albums lived up to the hype and have the sales to prove it. As far as Lady Gaga… LOL! Plus, people are complaining that both Rihanna's "Loud" and Bruno Mars "Doo-Wops & Holligans" only peaked as high as number 3 on the Billboard 200, but some of their sales weeks were much higher than slow weeks when people have debuted at #1 with less than 100,000 sales. Lady Gaga would've been 440,000 sales short without that $.99 sale at Amazon. Kanye wasn't nominated because he didn't promote his albums. He only released a few singles (the most notable being "All of the Lights") and then stopped to work on his joint album with Jay-Z. And there it is.

  22. 22

    P.S. Terrible copy/paste job.

  23. 23

Re: sk8terboy1983 – Beyonce flopped harder than Lady GaGa this year! Rihanna's "Loud" is still outselling it and it is over a year old! Speak what you know or keep it to yourself! The unnecessary shade wasn't warranted.

wow…speak now was snubbed of the aoty. fuck the grammies.
