Depeche Mode Is Planning A New Album And Tour!

Depeche Mode New Album

Their last album didn't do so well, critically or commercially, so we're glad to see that they haven't given up!

That's right, Depeche Mode is planning to meet up early next year to discuss and possibly start recording a brand new album (in March)!

And you know what that means — a new tour!

All of this news comes right from Andy Fletcher himself, so it's legit.

Do U think Depeche Mode can make another great album, or has their spark gone out??

I saw their last tour live and it was fantastic. The place was packed and it was a mix of young and old there. Kind of hard to say their spark gone out when venues sell out despite the ticket prices.

Part of me doesn't want to listen to their new stuff since their earlier albums were such a huge part of my youth. I haven't listened to their latest album, but I'm willing to give their next a go.

Their last album, "Playing the Angel," was honestly one of their best! Went to see the tour and it was incredible and sold out! Glad to hear they are coming out with another album. Honestly, DM had more albums that weren't big commercial hits than not, and for some, that was part of their appeal. A lot of people felt like they "sold out," with Violator.

Best band in the world! I met Alan Wilder a few months ago in Toronto, when he was promoting his music side project "Recoil" (amazngly dark music… check it out!) Alan left the nand in 1995, but he recently played with them at a charity concert. It would be amazing if he joined the band again on their new album. Martin Gore always gets credit for the songs (writing), but the man who gave Depeche their unique sound on albums like 'Violator' and 'Music for the Masses' was Alan.

Oh my gosh, what happened to his face?

    Re: Krisg1987

Nothing happened to his face. His stage makeup is just smugged from performing and sweating on stage. Lighten up. We should all be so lucky to look that good at his age.

    DMode Rocks!! People are People….

I can't wait for the next album. DM are one of the few bands that keep producing really good music. Plus their shows are amazing, too!

I don't know what you're talking about. I thought DM's last album, "Sounds of the Universe," was their best since 1993's "Songs of Faith & Devotion," although I’ve long had a soft spot for 1997's "Ultra." I only wish they'd played more of "Sounds" LIVE on their last tour. In fact, I just listened to it all the way through yesterday. My go-to tracks on it are "Fragile Tension," "Come Back," "Miles Away" and "Jezebel."

They're one of my fave bands during my teen years. Brings back memories! Still love them!
