Seattle Theatre to Lift Ban Of Smartphones In 2014

| Filed under: Tacky & TrueEtc.

movie theater talking cell phone

Smartphones have long been forbidden in theatres and entertainment venues for the raucous it causes with the wiring. Not to mention it's just plain rude.

But a venue in Seattle is about to change their tune come 2014.

When it opens two years from now, the theatre will not only welcome smartphones but encourage the use of tweeting throughout the performance.

Wow, we'd hate to be sitting near the people who want to do that…

With plans of the ban lifting in that theatre, people are wondering what it could mean for every entertainment venue.

It doesn't matter if it's a theatre or a movie theater, if we're paying money to see a show, we don't want it interrupted by people treating it as their own living room. It ruins the experience, no?

no they should stay BANNED. I dont wanna hear phones ringing and people yapping whilst watching a film I PAID to watch. Never mind the technical issues its just damn rude.

Phones should be banned in all movie, theater or stage performances. It is just plain rude. No one wants to be blinded by a bright beam of light right in the middle of a film. I will not be attending any theaters that allow cell phones. I paid my 9$ and i expect to be uninterrupted as I enjoy my show. Those of you who cant stay off your phone for two hours are pathetic and have no business in the civilized world. AMC obviously cares more about getting money from disrespectful people they do about creating a quality movie going experience.

Why the fuck is the ban being lifted in the future? Why do they think that's a good idea? It's banned in the first place for a reason! :/

I understand if you need to take an emergency call (excusing yourself from the area), but hopefully that's the only reason they are choosing to lift the ban.
