The charges Ms. Kristy faces are distribution of meth, conspiracy to violate the drug law, and drug violation in a school zone.

My dissertation adviser had/has a grow room in his house. I guess he originally started growing it for anxiety (in a state where medical marijuana isn't legal), then he started selling it and tried to pass it off as research for a paper on drug culture. As far as I know he's still doing this, despite the fact that both the department head and half of the senior faculty knew what he was/is doing.
Re: yeez – Marijuana has some benefits for people so I would say chill out and your advisor does not sound like a huge operation (one room?!) that's basically half of all Canadian houses. Meth has no benefits and I've seen first hand how it can ruin lives. I would say these are two different things.
