American Airlines Calls Alec Baldwin Rude & Offensive!

Alec Baldwin has tweeted his peace on the plane fiasco, and now so has American Airlines!

After kicking him off the flight for playing Words with Friends, AA issued this statement to let everyone know their side of the story:

Since an extremely vocal customer has publicly identified himself as being removed from an American Airlines flight on Tuesday, Dec. 6, we have elected to provide the actual facts of the matter as well as the FAA regulations which American, and all airlines, must enforce. Cell phones and electronic devices are allowed to be used while the aircraft is at the gate and the door is open for boarding. When the door is closed for departure and the seat belt light is turned on, all cell phones and electronic devices must be turned off for taxi-out and take-off.

This passenger declined to turn off his cell phone when asked to do so at the appropriate time. The passenger ultimately stood up (with the seat belt light still on for departure) and took his phone into the plane’s lavatory. He slammed the lavatory door so hard, the cockpit crew heard it and became alarmed, even with the cockpit door closed and locked. They immediately contacted the cabin crew to check on the situation. The passenger was extremely rude to the crew, calling them inappropriate names and using offensive language. Given the facts above, the passenger was removed from the flight and denied boarding.

Ouch!

We bet he's in talks to be a competing airline's spokesperson right now!!!

Please, for the love of God, learn how to spell. **Piece**

I heard the exact quote was that he was acting like a "rude little pig." No we know where his daughter got it from.

  3. 3

    Baldwin is a complete a-hole!

  4. 4

I'm glad the airline isn't kissing his ass. Celebrities need to learn that the rules are not different for them than they are for everyone else. He could have turned his damn phone off until it was in the air instead of acting like a spoiled child.

  5. 5

The whole world heard what he called his daughter and how he treated his wife. Now we can see how he thinks he can endanger a whole plane full of people and not follow the rules because this ahole thinks he is a biog fat ugly star. KIM KIM KIM what were you doing when you married this flake. I find him revolting..literally makes me sick to my stomach to look at him. UGH

I know Alec Baldwin is a jerk but I have to side with him. These flight attendant have let what little power they have go to their head. Of corse there going to side with themselves and don't won't to get embarrassed like the airline that made Kevin smith leave because he was to big or the airline made Green Day's Billy joe Armstong leave for his sagging pants. I'm surprise a passenger hasn't follow a flight attendant home to beat the crap out of them

Plus oscar de la hoya said there was no problem!

Re: AngelsAdvocate – What part of him breaking FAA regulations don't you get? Don't like the rules, don't get on the plane, it's that simple, DUH!

  9. 9

Re: AngelsAdvocate – Agree with you. Flight Attendants can be nasty pit bulls, along with everything else, they can add to the unpleasantness of flying now.

Well, unfortunately American doesn't have allot of credibility. Additionally, celebrities should be treated different and their behavior over looked. They have so much stress to always be "on" and unrealistic expectations set upon them. Poor Alec, he should have flown Delta - they let me ask a fool all the time.

  11. 11

Wasn't it reported, though, that he got on another American Airlines flight only 2 hrs later? If he was so belligerent and dangerous to the safety of one flight, why would they have allowed him onto another of their flights 2 hrs later? That makes no sense. I think that if someone is thrown off a plane by an airline claiming he's been as described, it makes little sense to let him board a flight of the same airline only 120 minutes later. So maybe while Baldwin plays the celeb game, so, too, does American Airlines. And some flight attendants are the pissiest people interacting with the public. I mean, it is an airline job full of rules. But its also a job which tends to be the face of the industry and one which is all about interacting with people. You can tell that most flight attendants hate their jobs - and their passengers. Many of them should not even be in the job. If they don't want to deal with people or don't know how to deal with people, they should ask to be reassigned as baggage handlers.

I love you Alec Baldwin! Screw American Airlines!

  13. 13

Tweeted his "peace"? You know Perez, if you need to hire a new writer who actually knows how to spell, I'd be more than willing to do the job.

But he's Alec Baldwin, and that means being allowed to talk on a cell UNTIL he's done no matter what electronics are potentially interfered with on take-off.

  15. 15

they are not wrong… they should add arrogant and obnoxious too

  16. 16

The man is a PIG>>> I am so glad Kim got away from him. I never watch anything with him involved.

  17. 17

    i watched
'prelude of a kiss " or whatever its called he was dreamy
whats the big deal about cell phones in doctors office and on flights what bs has there ever been proof that they interfer in anything ..theres been proof by those lunatic guys that cell phones pretty much couldnt blow up garages so prob no proof that a cell phone could bring a plane down… flight attentents are lazy and rude and up themselves .. i ask for a blanket and i didnt get one the entire flight on quantas where is my blanket the aircon was freezing . theyll serve u whats required but nothing more..
leave alec alone hes allowed to talk on the phone maybe it was hollywood calling …

Re: piissed on gypsy-perez posse member 777 – Spent a whole flight waiting on a pillow once. Packing your own blanket now? That would be a long flight to be cold.

  19. 19

Why do so many people feel they need to talk on cell phones all the time (OK I realize Alex was trying play some kind of game)? It is so annoying, what are you going to say to people, like if you are in the supermarket, " OK I am in the cracker aisle right now" - "OK I am in the mayonnaise aisle", OK I am in produce" Who the hell cares?

You can call me an old fogey but I grew up without all the technology we have today - if something was important, you found a pay phone (usually at a gas station) to call for help.

Never had any problems with AA the few times I have flown them - Delta seems a notch beter,

  20. 20

just laughing at all the ignorance as far as keeping people safe while flying…guess
the ones spewing all the stupid comments never get out of town…and if they do, I'm sure they are calling Greyhound.

  21. 21

Re: Jade – YOU ARE AN IDIOT!!! DID I SPELL THAT CORRECT?

  22. 22

I've been a "skyhag" for 24 years and I can't tell you how many times I've had to tell someone to turn off their electronics after 3 announcements and a walk-through. Why do passengers always assume we do it just to annoy them?? It's a Federal Air Reg–no exceptions regardless of your name or job–plumber or movie star, you're the same to us. The FAA also doesn't care which side of the curtain you're sitting one–First Class or Coach–the rules are the same on both sides of the aisle or curtain. If you don't like the FAA mandated regulations then do those of us who must abide by them, just don't fly–drive or take the train!!

  23. 23

Re: awskyhag – thank you for the posting. I have been in the airline industry for over 26 years, and peoples ignorance or lack of information continue to surprise me. EVERYONE needs to follow the rules. I don't give a damn who you are. If you cant follow rules then take the damn bus. Your job is already difficult, but with douchbags like this, it just makes it harder. I'm in your corner mamma….

  24. 24

These are not Flight Attendant rules!! These are FAA rules which Flight Attendants are paid to make sure they are followed. If he is such a big star, why isn't he flying a private jet? This way, he can lock himself in the bathroom to play his phone game and not delay 144 paying passengers. I could sympathise, if maybe there was a family emergency. But, a damn word game!! As AWSKYHAG said, "if you just listen to the three announcements about turning your phone off, there would have never been a problem."
