final destination 5 poster banned in britain

Wonder if they'll ban the Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol poster too! LOTS of kids are scared of ghosts! Ha!

Check out the Final Destination 5 poster (above). Do U think it's terrifying?

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) in the U.K. has banned the poster because they claim it is upsetting children.

According to the ASA, the poster image "was likely to catch the attention of children, especially because it was shown on a poster on the Underground, where it was an untargeted medium."

The ASA also said that the image "was likely to cause fear and undue distress to children."

Warner Bros tried to argue that the shattered skull was a "fantasy image" and that the poster "accurately reflected the content of the film in an appropriate manner without causing excessive fear or distress," but in the end they lost the battle.

What do U think? Would U want UR kids looking at the Final Destination 5 poster???

They've been banning everything over there: photoshopped celebrities, teenaged actresses sitting on railroad tracks, and now theater posters. They need a HO SIT DOWN moment.

yet another film series that needs to be put to death

should be banned for being crappy. But I agree children dont need nasty images shoved in their faces in tube stations. they should be in adult places only.

It's illegal to ship Horror comic books to there so I"m not really surprised by this.

Damn, it must be a drag to live in Britain.

That's the kind of picture that would have scared/disturbed me as a child, so yes.

Re: Beautiful Disaster311 – Not really. I don't feel as if I'd lose out on anything but not having that poster around. Or by not having a picture of a chick on railway tracks. It's hardly a big deal. It's just surprising because the UK media is a LOT less puritanical in terms of sex and maturity than the US. Skins, anyone?

Love Britain. God, how I miss London.

I was a very sensitive child, I always had to sleep with the lights on after seeing something during the day that'd scared me… I'm over stuff like that now but I can easily see how some children of a more sensitive disposition would be disturbed by this poster
