Verizon Partnering With Redbox To Launch Netflix Rival

Redbox + Verizon = tough competition for Netflix!
Verizon and Redbox are reportedly partnering up to launch their own streaming movie and television service.
Starting next year on May 28th, both companies will offer customers the opportunity to buy credits that they can use to purchase and rent videos online OR at the Redbox kiosks.
The project is "a top priority" for Coinstar, the company behind Redbox, although sources say the service, which aims to reach 85 million households in America, won’t seek to beat rivals in offering the newest releases.
In which case, Netflix might still have a chance.
Given all the crap Netflix has put their customers through over the last couple months, do U think Verizon's new service will steal any of their customers?

why? this is so unnecessary. the idea is totally unoriginal… i don't see the point.
Is Redbox public? If so, I wish I had invested. At the supermarket, first one Redbox, one person. Then two, then a line. Then two Redboxes, and there's still a line. Especially since (most?) Blockbuster stores folded, convenience and the traditional medium (many people still don't download, stream, blah blah) are stirring up quite the business. DVDs will phase out, so the move is a good idea.
Netfix has blundered a lot lately, pissing off a ton of their customers. They're stock has fallen 76% in 6 months. A child renting DVD's out of a backpack could wipe out Netflix right now.
