Yes! LOUD Commercials Will Soon Be A Thing Of The Past!!!

fcc doing away with loud commercials

Today, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) officially passed the 2010 Commercial Advertisement Loudness Mitigation (CALM) Act which "requires commercials to be kept at the same volume as the programs they're airing around."

Unfortunately, the rule won't go into effect until Dec. 13, 2012…but we'd imagine we'll be hearing fewer and fewer loud commercials as the year goes on!

Here's what the FCC had to say about this wonderful act in a statement:

"…Today took a major step toward eliminating one of the most persistent problems of the television age — loud commercials."

That is SUCH great news! Now we won't have to put down our waffles and milk to constantly adjust the volume while watching some morning TV! Score!

Thanks, FCC!!!!!!!

Thank the fucking gods!!!! It's so damn annoying, turning the volume up, down, mute. watch bones on TN&T and it's like watching a concert every few minutes.

Good! I used to work for Directv and one common complaint was loud commercials (like I could do anything about the volume) It was highly irritating.

Say thanks to Anna Eshoo (D) California's 14 district. Takes a "libtard" to do things the American people want. Teabaggers are too busy taking away the rights of citizens.

What a mentality it is. Volume up full blast and yesssss… wait…. it's working….. everybody is running out and buying the product! They truly believe that ear splitting, noisy, annoying commercials convince us to buy? The IDIOTS! It always had the opposite effect on me.
