Does that mean other people will start putting up Oscars for sale? How much would it cost for Daniel Day-Lewis' There Will Be Blood Oscar? That one seems like it'd be worth having! LOLz!

Today, El Lay's Nate D. Sanders Auctions announced that they'd be putting Orson Welles' Citizen Kane Oscar for sale online this month.

Welles' Kane Oscar was "assumed to be lost" for decades, but it was actually in the possession of a cinematographer who was given the trophy by Welles himself.

The seller's name hasn't been identified, but apparently they're allowed to sell the Oscar because Orson Welles "never signed the academy's agreement not to sell the trophy."

NOW we understand! Guess that means we won't ever be buying any of Daniels' Oscars. Ah well!

How much would U spend on Orson Welles' Citizen Kane Oscar???

Oscars are not suppose to be sold, they are to be returned to the Academy if the original award winner does not want it. The Academy then puts the statute on display in it's viewing room.
