    This is stupid and unmemorable.

  2. 2

A great choice to boost subscriptions!
    -
There's a reason most people gave up on Time and Newsweek decades ago.
    -
Who is on the Board to make this pick?
They must be the same people who give meaningless Peace Prizes away too.
    -
Steve Jobs would have been a sane pick.
    -
There is no compromising with these people. We tried that.

Perez, it's not just Occupy Wallstreet who Time is highlighting, i think more importantly it is those in the Arab Spring, many, thousands have died protesting for the simple right of having their voice heard, demanding democratic change and asking for their dignity back. While I have respect for the occupy wallstreet and their goal, let us not forget those in the Arab spring.

    it looks like a muslim

Re: netgear – Right, because all of the people that protested for the end of slavery, for women's suffrage, and for civil rights were all "stupid" and "unmemorable." Face it people: protest brings change - a hell of a lot faster than electing new politicians that make false promises.

  6. 6

Fuck your a tool. Of the 4 entities listed on the cover, the Occupy crowd is the least accomplished or famous. But somehow, you show that cover and congratulate them on being famous. Your a joke.

  7. 7

Yeah Hilton, congratulations to the homeless, hippy drug addicts who defecated on police cars. They belong right up there with Time's other Persons of the Year. You really are a douche.

  8. 8

PEEREX occupotty is only ONE mention, the others ACCOMPLISHED something, the occupottys only accomplished shitting in the streets.

Steve Jobs would have been an excellent choice, it's true. The Time isn't doing any favor to the protesters all over the world whatever the cause they defend. They're just stating that being a protester is the it-thing of the moment. All those people fighting for their rights don't give a damn about being famous, they want their community to be heard, understood and respected. Being a protester is not a trend, don't make it look like it is because we all know what happens with trends, they die quickly.

yup change is a coming. theyll be stoning even more gays to death in the public square over in the arab country, but as long as they hate christians, perez will back them and the OWS anarchists, rapists and drug addicts.

  11. 11

i am not the least bit surprised that Perez would be delighted at the Wall Street Occupy movement mention and focus squarely on that. Typical liberal zombie not looking at the big picture. The Occupy protestors are clearly an unorganized group who have pulled off the largest public group temper tantrum this country has seen in a long time and they will change nothing. they cant even protest in places that would make sense, places responsible for the policies they are unhappy about. they all seem like bratty fools to me who think they are at woodstock. Theyve attracted people like Russel Simmons and Jay-Z who pretend to support when really they are oppurtunists at heart trying to help their businesses as would any of these fools in that pit, given the chance. Capitalism is a good thing. This movement that its evil is misguided and foolish. The have nots will always resent the haves and thats been the same since the begining of time. deal with it.

it was actually the year of the stolen nude cellphone picture …

  13. 13

You really cant read? IT IS SAID: Arab Spring, Athens, Occupy Wall Street, Moscow. So its not only about OWS. There is so much more out there, than New York.

  14. 14

You look at that cover picture and the first protester that came to mind was an OWS person? Wow. You are really out of touch.

  15. 15

would have liked to see steve jobs there.

  16. 16

a little us-centric, aren't we? The Occupy Wall Street protestors are nothing compared to those who protested and still are protesting in the Arab countries!

  17. 17

Re: jamesG – Excellent post! You took the words right out of my mouth!
These scumbags are nothing more than anarchist pigs…shitting on everything.

  18. 18

This was definitely the year of "The Protester." Sure beats Barbara Walter's choice for "Most Fascinating People."

  19. @v@ says – reply to this

    19

Re: luvs2hustle – Placating the masses. I guess it beats putting Goldman Sachs, the Fed and big banks on the cover as per usual.

  20. 20

Yeah thats what they need to do….make the united states protester look like al-queda.
Senate Bill 1867 –the National Defense Authorization Act– would openly “legalize” the U.S. government’s detainment and murder of OWS protesters and the assassination of talk show hosts, bloggers, journalists and anyone who holds a so-called “anti-government” point of view. This is the open and blatant declaration of war against any who do not going along with TSA thugs reaching down your pants, the Goldman Sachs economic takeover of nations, the secret arrest and torture of American citizens, and other acts of outright tyranny waged by an out-of-control government.

  21. 21

TIME is irrelevant and has been for at least 20 years…

  22. 22

Too bad Occupy Wall Street has'nt and won't achieve anything because they're disorganized and have no clear goal. Perez, open your eyes to shit happening in the rest of the fucking world and quit being a twat. You're the type of American the rest of the world hates

  23. 23

these anti-protester comments are HORRIFYING! WTF is wrong with you people? Fucking obedient capitalist slaves! GO suck a dollar bill!

  24. 24

Stupid choices. OWS Are a bunch of losers.

  25. 25

Bunch of losers without a clear message.

Did my share of protestig and peace marches and anit-Vitenam rallies in the late 60's - now that had a message even if it was when I pickted the chemical company that made Napalm.

  26. 26

It's a sad day when the 'person of the year' goes to a bunch of losers who clearly have nothing better to do with their lives than sit and 'protest' over jobs etc (i mean occupy wall street, not the middle eastern protestors, who are actually fighting for something major). That time could be better spent doing volunteer work to boost your resume and therefore increasing your chances getting a paying job! And before anyone says 'oh but you don't get paid to do volunteer work, so why bother?' Well, you don't get paid for sitting on your ass in Wall Street complaining about it either. I'm sick of these fools blaming the system - you can make anything you want to happen if you really, really try. People have just become entitled these days. What happened to good, old-fashioned hard work?
