Not a Kardashian, so calm yourself down!

There are more than a few people (cough-Joy Behar-cough) who were miffed with Barbara Walters for choosing the Kardashian family as one of her most fascinating people of the year. We're on Barbara's side on this one, considering the impact the family has made on pop culture this year, but we didn't feel like they should come in at the #1 spot.

As it turns out, they didn't. But who did? It's the man with the vision, the man who left us too soon, the man who gave us the world in the palm of our hands:

Steve Jobs.

Does everyone feel better now? Can we all give poor Babs a break! She came through in the end. She's got her priorities straight.

We still miss you, Steve!

    Damn straight.

    BOW! Congrats Steve RIP

still wanted to see the KKKs on top tho LOL

  3. 3

Good "most" choice - but overall it was a really boring show.

I wanted to comment on the Duggars and the miscarried baby….how would it be disrespectful to show the pictures when the family themselves put the pictures out there? Plus, you've shown people without underwear before but won't show a miscarried baby? Hypocrite. Which I already knew you were. Or as you always say "we".

Babs is a journalist first and foremost, and there's no denying the K Klan dominated the airwaves and media this year, like it or not. The K's turn of sudden disfavor is the only reason people squawked so loudly about this selection. Babs knows what was shaking.

He should have been on the list last year. She should expand her list to more worthy people next year in different catagories. Health, science, inventions etc. Not Kartrashians. They are just infamous for a sex tape career and fighting and cursing.

The only thing fascinating about the Kardashians is that people will actually watch them perform for the cameras, and people will actually buy their crap! These Kardashians (and real housewives, and Jersey shore goofs, and the GOP candidates) are a symptom of the dumbing down of America - that is the real story. Shame of Barbara Walters for giving them even more attention.

I know you have changed your ways Prez but please it is time for Walters to cash in her chips. Her and Geddies idea of facinating is not really anyone elses. what no Justin Beiber? Steve Jobs is the only one who is legit. Love the actors from Modern Family but an imaginary couple is the most facinating? Anthing wrong with putting someone one who is intellegent on that has contributed to the world and not in a nasty ass Kardasian way??

Re: noticed – - Yes, ideally the focus would be on those kinds of categories as well…but shows like this are a form of escapism, which should also be able have their place in the entertainment spectrum. However, the imbalance comes with the 24/7 emphasis seemingly only on these kinds of shows by the media, which points your accusatory finger directly at…the media.

Media flogs whatever seems to bring the most advertising dollars in. Viewing for profit = The Kardashians. Other values also used to be in the mix…not as much anymore. When it becomes all about the bottom line, viewers get…bottom line. There are still a lot of really good shows out there. People need to turn them on.

If the name of the show was most disgusting then yes, Kardashians should be on it. Most fascinating — no — that word makes it sound OK - and there is nothing OK about them. Babs is wrong for promoting them on her show; plain and simple. That there is so much backlash proves that. She's doing it for ratings and that is all. I have lost all respect for BABS. She's a sell out for cashola.

phalen208: DO you not get that yes, they dominate the airwaves, but by who's choice. That would be the media shoving it down our throats everyday. Do you not read that MOST OF US ARE SICK OF IT. We post it over and over and the media never lets up. Makes me wonder how much the Kardashians are paying the media to be in the spotlight? Think about that. It happens.

    RIP Steve.

  15. 15

Wow. Babs managed to find one person she found "fascinating," AND HE'S DEAD. The others — from Kartrashian to Katy Perry — are brain dead. Idiot Walters couldn't find ONE person with a brain, a scientific bent, a philosophical idea or theory who was more fascinating that the trolls and whores she trotted out? Babs is drinking from the swill tank.

Re: Yenkme – no one is ever obligated to donate to a charity, that's why they call it PHILANTHROPY. And if you knew even an ounce about Steve Jobs you would know that he has never been one to donate to charities, regardless of their prevalence in his life. Judge that notion all you'd like, but to say that he's somehow misguided because he didn't donate money to some organization that funds cancer research is really stupid.

  17. 17

Steve Jobs was brilliant & his work will impact the world always. It's an insult to him & his memory that he was put on a list of morons by Barbara Walters & her pal Bill Getty. Enormous insult… R.I.P. Steve Jobs

Re: CookiexNinja – Jobs provided a lot of jobs. That has much value. If he's like me, what if he had a problem with the tiny percentage of charitable donations that actually goes to address the problems? I also imagine that the thousands of people his ventures employed would have donated to many charities, so…
