Listen To This: La Morte!

| Filed under: LatinoliciousListen To ThisShakiraFrancophilia

Shakira is currently topping the charts in France with her Spanish/French song Je L'aime à Mourir / La Quiero A Morir.

This is soooo pretty! And different from the things she's been doing recently!

Just an acoustic guitar, some strings and Shaki!

LOVE it!

Check out the ballad (above)!

"la quiero a morir" is one of my favorite songs and I love the salsa version also but Shakira put this song in a higher new level.
    Love it!!!
So happy I will be listening to it in Paris, when I go there in a few weeks!

That is the best thing I have heard in a very long time. Love it.

This is actually a very popular 1979 song by Francis Cabrel later translated into other versions like merengue and salsa by popular artists Sergio Vargas, DLG, Marc Anthony and Jerry Rivera. I love the salsa version the best, but this does make you feel each and every lyric.Love it, Shakira!

HA! Topping the charts in France? Isn't that like a pro baseball player hitting a homerun…on a little league field? :)

What are you talking about? Shakira has been just elected the most influential latin artist in the world. And she has always been very famous and successful in Europe, this is not new at all.

@raypearson: You obviously have no ideas on who we are in France and I'm sure you did not even understand this song , if so you would have not written that !! Peace !!
Francis Cabrel was not asked his agreement for this song and he was so glad that someone as young as Shakira would sing it and above all sing so perfectly!

Re: hoochpitRe: raypearson – Believe it or not, there is a whole big world out there out side of the US.

Perez , she has always been doing this kind of music, the problem is that her goofiest songs have been released as singles lately cause are more dance type and can sell easily. But this is the way she became famous in latinamerica to start with, just her and her guitar and only a few dancing songs.

Re: nowayyyy – en fait c'est 4 mots mais bon, peu important tout ça. en bon québécois je lui dirais plutôt : mange un char criss d'ignorant. ça fait 6 mots, mais il semble ne savoir compter que jusqu'à 3.

I like DLG version 100 times better. Shakira used to be awesome back in the day with "donde esta Los ladrones" now she's gone from being a sellout to being totally unoriginal. No longer a fan very dissapointed…

her voice sounds like a squeeky wheel. Sorry it does. Or one of those little squeeky horns. Just weird sounding. Plus I couldnt detect any tune or melody.

She's beautiful, the song is beautiful, and she sings it beautifully!
