In a bid to figure out why the Kardashians are famous during her 18th annual '10 Most Fascinating People' special, Barbara Walters straight up told the Kardashians that they have no talent (and therefore she was confused as to why they're actually famous).
Barbara Walters has ballz, guys:
"You don't really act; you don't sing; you don't dance. You don't have any — forgive me — any talent."
Then, Kim proceeded to say this:
"I think it's more of a challenge for you to go on a reality show and get people to fall in love with you for being you, so there is definitely a lot more pressure, I think for being famous for being ourselves."
Is it really challenging being yourself? We'd think it'd be the other way around — it's be more difficult to have to be something you're not all the time. So we don't really buy this. Also, what pressure is there if you AREN'T performing?
But, say what you will about the Kardashians and their lack of overall talent… the truth is that they're pretty great at business, and apparently that's what matters.

From what I understood about what Kim was saying (about it being harder to be yourself) is not that it is easy to be an actor, but that actors have characters, and scripts that are written for them, by writers that know what people want. Reality tv stars have a more difficult time being loved, because they are being themselves, you are trying to get people to like you for you, not for the you that a Hollywood screenwriter dreamed up.
On that note, no, they don't seem to have much talent in the way of singing/acting etc. But they are in fact talented business women…. say what you will, but even if a sex tape is what made her famous, how long ago did Kim make the tape? And people are still talking about her? She and her sisters have still made money off of their perfume and clothing line, off of their show that people still watch. The Kardashians definitely know what they are doing as far as the business goes.
