Madonna's Second Guessing Doing The Super Bowl!?!

madonna super bowl

We keep hearing that Madonna is having some serious second thoughts about performing at halftime for the Super Bowl, and we die a little each time.

Apparently she wasn't so sure about doing it in the first place because she's jam packed with W.E. promotions in early 2012, but she says:

I was really torn about doing Super Bowl because I thought, 'Oh God, how can I do that and promote my film at the same time. It's a little bit much.' But my manager talked me into it and I'm still punishing him for that.

Okayy….so what does this mean, Madgesty??

Please don't tell us you're going to cancel! We would DIE!

Surely she won't. We mean, c'mon, it is Madonna!!

i hope she gives up on that ridiculous idea! super bowl is for second or third class celebrities, not for the biggest female artist in the history of human kind so far!

  2. 2

Lots of football fans are outraged with her doing the Half-Time Show, she does not want to be booed at the Super Bowl!!! And for her crazed fans - go to the football forums and you'll know what I mean!!!

MADONNA and FOOTBALL??? Come on! How many middle aged gay guys watch this sport event?????

  3. 3

Ugh, please cancel. Last thing football fans want is an old hag limping around the field and lip syncing to some bullshit ass new music. Get over it.

  4. 4

    i hope she pulls out.

  5. 5

Although I am not a sports fan and know absolutely nothing about football, my reaction to the news was - what an awkward place for Madonna. I hope she chooses to focus on promoting the film.

  6. 6

listen to your fans! change your set list … Causing A Commotion!!!

I think Madonna doing the SB is perfect for her career at this point.
an instant 120 million viewers. a chance to show what she actually does on her world grossing #1 tours. A lot of people have always been underestimating her since her career started 30 years ago—but truthfully- she is one of the world's best and solid entertainers around. Her career has spanned 30 years- and no one can come close to her successes. The most #1 dance songs in Billboard history- the most top 100 songs for a female…and she can really do no wrong at this point. She is a living legend, the American Dream–and a pure rags to riches story. She can dance circles and outperform many of these pop tarts half her age and M can have the super bowl forum to show these little tarts- and the world- a lesson or two.

Football fans are NOT Madonna fans… Period. She was a crappy choice to begin with. Sure "she" is rethinking because she doesn't have enough time. uh-huh. What a laugh! When in truth, she is only rethinking because of the outcry, because no one wants to see her and trying to save face. Pathetic. Just sad.

  9. 9

She'll have a potential 100 million people watching her with not a care about her lip syncing or "movie" career. I understand getting an older female act for the 40/50 something moms out there, but they should go for someone that better fits the demographic. The Foo Fighters should of played the halftime show!

What is it, ten minutes tops? Two or three songs or more likely a medley? Pffft.
Hire someone great to take care of the staging, and then it's only a few runthroughs.

Re: NayNayBby – ewwwwwwwwww, have you ever seen yourself
in a mirror. even an "old hag" is better looking then your flabby ass. pffft. no worries,
Madonna will kick ass at the halftime show. while you and your kind "monsters" will
be wondering why GaGa didn't get picked, and Madonna the original did. pathetic
    you are…truly.

  12. 12

yet ANOTHER effortless validation that Oseary needs to GO..!!!!

i know American football "fans" are by no means Madonna's target audience

at the same time, the fact that so many are pissed off,
compels me to hope that she stays the course and KILLS that halftime show

watching her perform a kick-ass show, and irritate the hell out
of all those moronic obese conservative "American" football fans
would definitely make for a memorable Madonna moment

i do hope she changes up her set list, she needs to be ahead
of this game, not behind it. i'm sure she will change it up and KILL it!

    can't wait…!

old hag aint what is use to me…leave

  15. 15

movie promotions? Seriously who the hell would want to see a movie produced by Madonna?

  16. 16

    Re: ObviousMuch?

So what? Even non football fans tune in for the halftime show.. I bet you are a nickelback fan

She'll be great. No worries. Go kick some stage arse, Madge.

  18. 18

According to the prior announcement, MadDonna is doing the 1/2 time show along with Cirque du Soleil. It could be a worthy spectacle. As a fan of NFL, Super Bowl & associated 1/2 time show, I'd be interested to see how her performance stacks up against U2, The Who, McCartney, Prince, Tom Petty, Rolling Stones, Black Eyed Peas etc. etc.

  19. 19

Lady Germanotta, also second guessing performing anywhere. Please buy her flop new single.

  20. 20

what a bunch or disgusting loosers you are, hm! rags!

  21. 21

of course she wont give up. shes just saying she will have lots of work. she doesnt mind. she never said she would give up. she never gives up….. and she already said its an honour to perform at superbowl. and she said she has to promote her album too…. so relax and don say second thoughts cause madonna never said anything.its 100% confirmed and the reharsels already started….like this madonna will have time to promote her movie too. and the set list was announced too… so dont believe in all that the press says

  22. 22

Why not Gloria Estafan? She's about the same age.

  23. 23

of course she wont cancel.shes already reharsing perez..she was just saying she will be very busy… but shes madonna…. shes always busy. she barely sleeps…. shes on stop. and the set list its already set

  24. 24

MADONNA MIA AND MINAJ ARE ALREADY REHARSING.-…. OF COURSE SHE WONT CANCEL.MADONNA NEVER CANCELS ANYTHING….. they are reharsing already.she was just saying shell be very busy

  25. 25

…that'll be a good time to go on a beer run…

  26. 26

I guess she can not take the booing

  27. 27

Please save the football fans from this screeching/nasally 'singer'. I really think she should back out. She had her glory days, I think its time to retire to South Beach!

  28. 28

Re: ObviousMuch? – You might say that "Football fans are NOT Madonna fans… Period." but considering there are millions of American Football fans in America I imagine that many of them will have very different preferences in music. Besides, I read that 165 million people watched the Super Bowl final last year, I doubt all of them were fans of heavy metal, enough people from that demographic will be more than satisfied seeing Madonna perform. You also go on to say "because no one wants to see her and trying to save face. Pathetic. Just sad." So just because you don't want to see her that means nobody else does too? Didn't her last tour sell out during every one of it's US dates and set records globally? I find the arrogance of of some people astounding.

  29. 29

I find it funny how a lot of people who attack Madonna because of her age have terrible grammar and use words to insult her that a ten year old would in a playground.

  30. 30

Re: kirknyc24 – Having the highest grossing tour for a solo artist as recently as 2009 tells me that she appeals to more people than just "Middle aged gay guys". The kind of comment that a teenager who knows absolutely nothing about the real world would make.

Re: KEEFER – Anytime's a good time for a beer run. I know you'd peek on youtube later, lol. It's a tradition.

  32. 32

I think performing before over 100,000,000 people will be great exposure, not only for her music, but her new film, too. Madonna is a force of nature! I'm really looking forward to her super-big year and a reprieve from that copy-cat Gaga person!

  33. 33

She will be there. She will deliver a show more incredible than any other act has done before and soon after her fans will remember to play the role of being the most dedicated fans in the business. As for everyone else…Oh have no fear….they will be watching, some complaining, some hating, but most will be thinking that what they are seeing is difficult, extremely precise and very unique. Sad thing is many will not admit how much they enjoyed it.

Re: kirknyc24 – everyone knows you're a fatty virgin!! give it up!! lollllllll :-)
