Reese Witherspoon To Star In West Memphis 3 Movie

Oh man! We're glad such a talent will be involved in a story that NEEDS to be told!

Reese Witherspoon has reportedly signed on to star in Atom Egoyan's Devil's Knot, which follows the story of the West Memphis 3!

The drama, which was originally written by Scott Derrickson and Paul Boardman, will focus on Pam Hobbs, the mother of one of the murder victims who although initially believes the three suspects are responsible, but is eventually persuaded that they in fact were just wrongly accused, and will be played by the actress!

Wow. If done correctly, this could be yet another award-winning role for her!

We're very curious to see how this turns out!

How about U??

I hope it actually gets done, there is always "talk".

Perez, do you even know anything about the WM3, or do you just support the movement because Johnny Depp does? Do a little research, and hopefully if you're smart, you'll see that these guys are child murderers. It is a shame that Reese Witherspoon will be in a movie that will probably paint them to look like saints.

Cindy, clearly you know little about the FACTS of the case. Not one shred of evidence supported the conviction. Misskelley's "confession" is clearly coerced and wasn't even admitted in the trials of Damien and Jason. Do you really think the AG would let child murderers out of prision? The Alford Plea was just a way for Arkansas to save face (and money in a wrongful imprisionment case). Hell, even Ellington admitted he knew he would LOSE if new trials were granted.

You're a moron. Everything you just said was incorrect. Instead of just watching the Paradise Lost movies, do some real research.

For those out there unfamiliar with the case outside of watching the Paradise Lost movies, here are just a few FACTS that you should be aware of -

-Misskelley confessed to the crime FOUR times. Each time was documented by police. One of them is called the "bible confession" because he held his hand on a bible the whole time. There are two REPORTED confessions before the arrests.

-Misskelley confessed the crime to police after 3.5 hours of interrogation, not 12.

    - At one point, Misskelley scored an 88 and an 84 in the nonverbal areas of an IQ test. Average IQ is 90-109. He is not cognitively disabled or mentally handicapped.

-Echols and Misskelley each failed a polygraph test.

-There is fiber evidence which links the 3 to the crime scene. Only, the "documentaries" left that - and a lot of other information - out. They wanted people to think the 3 were convicted only due to the fact that they were "outsiders". This "injustice" caught the attention of celebrities and now here they are - walking the streets.

To anyone trying to help exonerate them - your time would be better spent saving the whales.

When your argument has little or no substance -attack your opponent. Nice. Darlin'. I'm a native Arkansawyer, I've followed the case since it started. So no, my knowledge goes far beyond any documentary film. What about all the inconsistencies in his "confession"? Time of day? He originally said it happened during the daylight hours, while the victims where in school. The questioner takes multiple attempts to lead Jesse to the right time of day. They were not bound with rope, as Jesse stated. There was no sexual assault, as Jesse stated. The medical examiner confirmed this. They were not bound in the manner Jesse stated. And no, Damien and Jason did not confess. The jailhouse informant later admitted he made it up to get a better deal on his on crimes. The actual results of the polygraph tests show they did not fail, but rather were told they did. That's not an uncommon tactic by some unscrupulous law enforcement personnel (oh, and did I mention I'm a police officer's child?). The fiber evidence was narrowed down to items that were sold in Wal-Mart. I'm sure no one else in Marion shopped there. Try again, Cindy…

Re: arkansastakeaction – THANK YOU for your comment! I have also followed this case closely for years & everything you have stated is 100% correct! I guess there will always be naysayers out there. Once their mind is made up, that's it, end of story- credits.
    Thanks again!

    cindylee is right

    re: Baldwin's accuser:
there are good reasons to consider Michael Carson believable. By the time he came forward, Carson had been released and faced no charges. He had nothing to gain for his testimony. For what it’s worth, he passed a polygraph. (from wm3 truth)

Misskelley was not coerced. He confessed THREE times. The third time voluntarily in front of his own lawyer.

Echols bragged to or told four different people he committed the crime before he was arrested.

It would be better if a movie was made about Diana Moore or Steve Branch, two other parents of the murdered children. They both still believe the 3 are guilty.
