steve jobs gets a grammy

So well deserved!

Today, the Recording Academy announced that Steve Jobs will be posthumously honored during a special ceremony one day before this year's Grammy Awards.

Jobs' significant contribution to the music industry will be recognized with a Special Merit Award, which falls under the Grammys' Trustees Award category.

Given the fact that pretty much EVERYONE listens to their music on iTunes these days, we'd say Steve definitely earned this honor!

What do U think? Does Steve Jobs deserve a Grammy???

Well deserved honor. Lets hope this special ceremony doesn't "suck", like previous ones..

iPod's impact on the industry (though not always interpreted positively by purists) is undeniable. He deserves it.

I think it's probably more for the huge role Apple plays in the actual recording/mixing/editing of music… I think the iPod was a genius after thought…

It's like Israel honoring Hitler. Steve Jobs destroyed the music industry. I hope his tribute gets drowned out with boos!

Re: kirknyc24 – iTunes didn't kill the music industry, the music industry wasn't ready for iTunes.

Initially I'm not referring to the iPod. I'm referring to actual Mac computers. They have been used in the recording industry for years for recording, mixing, etc… It's pretty much the industry standard.
