Last we heard from this shady guy, it didn't seem like he had much of a choice in this matter!
To recap…back in March, Survivor producer Bruce Beresford-Redman had been sent a 45 page extradition memorandum from Mexico, requesting that he return there to stand trial for murdering his wife in Cancun last spring.
Then in July, we learned that Bruce had failed in his efforts to fight extradition while in jail, and it became clear that he would definitely go on trial for his wife's murder in Mexico.
Now, we're hearing that Bruce has accepted the fact that he will go on trial in Mexico…and he's hoping that he'll be able to clear his name in this case. Ha!
Here's what his attorneys had to say about it in a statement released today:
"We are disappointed in the court's decision denying our request to prevent the extradition of our client, Bruce Beresford-Redman. After consultation with him, Bruce has decided not to appeal the decision and to return to Mexico and defend himself on the charges.
"He is innocent and it is his hope that the court in Mexico will assure that he receives a fair trial in which, he is confident, he will be exonerated."
If he truly is innocent, then we hope the truth comes through in court…but it REALLY seems like he's guilty. We have a feeling he's going to be spending the next couple of decades in prison…in Mexico.
What do U think? Does this former Survivor producer have a chance? Or will he be locked away for a looong time???
