Rick Perry Sees A Movie, Automatically Changes His Stance On Abortion

| Filed under: Wacky, Tacky & TruePolitik

Rick Perry Abortion

Rick Perry recently saw a movie, you guys, and it was so good that it changed his stance on abortion.

It wasn't just any movie, either. It was a movie produced by Oscar award winning producer Mike Huckabee, and Citizens United called The Gift Of Life.

Wait, we're sorry. Mike Huckabee isn't oscar award winning. In fact, he's just the former Arkansas governor and Natalie Portman Pregnancy Expert who once said, "Politics are totally directed by worldview. That's why when people say, 'We ought to separate politics from religion,' I say to separate the two is absolutely impossible."

So the movie was probably really impartial.

Anyway, Perry sees this flick and decided that ALL abortions shouldn't be allowed, even though he has been standing behind the idea that abortions in cases of rape and abuse should be treated differently.

Perry calls this a "transformation."

"You're seeing a transformation. It was … when the lady who was in (The Gift of Life) was looking me in the eye and said 'you really need to think this through.' She said 'I am the product of a rape' and she said 'my life is worth (it).' It was a powerful moment."

"All I can tell you was God was working on my heart."

Really? Swayed by one movie? That's all it takes for you to change a steadfast stance on something?

We wonder if his stance on oil tycoons changed after viewing The Muppets, or his stance on putting ideas into peoples' heads through dreams changed after watching Inception.

Regardless of your abortion stance, this totally sounds like a ploy to get conservative voters to support him.

I love you Perez, but could you please stop using your website as a political platform!!!! Just stick to celebs PLEASE!

  2. 2

How fantastic it is to hear that some people in this world still have great conviction.

  3. 3

Perez you are an idiot. I am by no means a Rick Perry fan but he didn't watch a movie and decide this. He decided this after ACTUALLY SPEAKING WITH THE WOMAN WHO WAS THE FOCAL POINT OF THE MOVIE/DOC!!! Instead of just copying and pasting a portion of some other websites story(aka Huff Post) you should have read the entire article!!

  4. 4

Too bad Perry's mother didn't have a cheap back-alley abortion when she got knocked up with his dumb ass.

  5. 5

Perez, you are a celebrity blogger. PLEASE respect your viewers and don't push your political opinions down our throats. It would take an idiot to not be able to figure out that your followers do not like Obama and we do not want to hear you attack every conservative that MIGHT run against Obama.

NOTE TO SELF: My viewers do not like Obama or Kartrashians. Stop promoting them.

  6. 6

Perez talking politics is like Perez talking sports….. Totally fucking clueless

  7. 7

Lighten up! Just because you support abortion doesn't mean that everyone who doesn't is a moron. What's great about our country is that we're allowed to support all sides of an issue. People who come to the opposite conclusion as you can be just as informed and educated… don't make them feel like idiots.

  8. 8

So where's the article about Obama asking for a 1.2 trillion dollar debt increase?

  9. 9

Re: thebigboot – Oh that little tidbit will be left out. Only left wing rhetoric is reported here.

I wonder if Perez forgot candidate Obama said " I believe marriage is between a man and a woman". He is not a gay backer so why does Perez love him???

  10. 10

Re: JennyJJJ – The same reason he backs the Muslims that would have gay people like him killed….

  11. 11

Perez how can you say that? He truly had a change of heart by watching this documentary. Just because you believe its okay to kill innocent babies doesn't mean people cant change their hearts and mind.

Re: JennyJJJ – perez has lots of people who are liberal or moderate who view his site that do not leave comments. the majority of people who do leave comments are hateful conservatives who for some reason get off on trolling his site. talk about pushing a political agenda. mean spirited christians and conservatives are definitely not my cup of tea so i do not visit their blogs. i suggest you do the same.

  14. 14

Norma McCorvey (aka Jane Roe in the Roe vs Wade abortion rights ruling) is now an avid anti- abortion activist! People can have a change of heart! Hey Perez, why don't you post about Norma McCovey' change of heart?

Re: JennyJJJ – obama is not a "gay backer" you say? even though he says he is evolving on gay marriage (which i'm sure he will support after he is re-elected) here are a few things he has done for the LGBT community.

Extending benefits to same-sex partners of federal employees? Check.
Signing the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act into law? Double check.
Ending gender identity discrimination in the federal government? Recording an It Gets Better video? Declaring DOMA unconstitutional? Repealing Don’t Ask Don’t Tell? Hosting anti-bullying Conference at the White House? Restoring sexual orientation to the United Nations protected human rights?
Check, check, check, check, check, and check

Re: AttFinch – When someone cannot debate their opinion and refuses to have it challenged, it usually means the opinion is more emotional than factual.

  17. 17

One of the greatest thing about this country is the freedom to have our own beliefs. You may not agree with the things that Rick Perry stands for, and that's fine, but making fun of his beliefs on such a public platform isn't right. You always insult people that don't share your beliefs while advocating for anti-bullying. Seems a little hypocritical to me.

  18. 18

Seriously?…… SERIOUSLY!?! to first of all even consider making abortions illegal is just beyond stupidity but then to EVEN take it further and making it illegal to have an abortion if you've been raped…..?!?! I'm so glad I'm not living in the U.S. gonna stay here in open minded europe and enjoy my legal and free abortions for the rest of my life.

Long live the right to choose

  19. 19

Re: simsalabimJJ – and I might add that I am a christian, seems like a lot of ppl here think that all christians are all against abortions…

  20. 20

Re: simsalabimJJ – OMG I hope someone spays you! Sounds like you don't know the difference between birth control and an abortion! Your exact words, "…enjoy my legal and free abortions for the rest of my life." It sounds like you can't get enough of them! Do you even keep track? You might want to read that Bible that comes along with Christianity, apparently you didn't realize what a 'sin' is, although all sins are forgivable, you're really not supposed to repeat them after you've asked to be forgiven! The sickest part of your statement was that you 'enjoy" your abortions! Gross!

  21. 21

Re: JennyJJJ – why not find a celeb gossip site that has a conservative viewpoint instead? certainly there's information about the osmonds or the cast of hee haw that conservatives would enjoy.
what do expect from a gay guy in hollywood. to be like sean hannity. you're swimming in the wrong pool.
as far as perry goes. he's alowed to have his opinion, and probably will only attract voters who are uber religious.

  22. 22

Two questions: If so many of you view this website as a pinpoint for leftist propaganda, then why do you keep visiting? I'm an independent, thus I don't watch Fox,or CNBC I just try to research my information from each politician's website. Why work yourselves into such an uproar for nothing? Make a decision and stick by it. You hate liberal rhetoric? Don't visit sites that seem to support it. Quick fix. Good Grief!

  23. 23

I honestly believe abortion rights should be solely voted on by women. No man knows what it's like to be pregnant.
