rooney mara does entertainment weekly

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo may not be making as much $$$ as the new Mission Impossible, but that's not stopping Rooney Mara from showing up EVERYWHERE!

Check out the cover of this week's Entertainment Weekly (above) which features Lisbeth Salander in all of her pierced glory!

We definitely have a feeling we'll be seeing a whole lot more of her!

Have U seen Dragon Tattoo yet? If so, were U impressed with Rooney's performance???

hell yeah i was impressed! great movie!!!

Why didn't they just get the actress from the original movie? She's the only reason this remake was ever made in the first place

  3. 3

No offense but whenever I see a plain Jane actress I assume she's from a rich family or her parents are big in Hollywood. It's ALWAYS true. If you're born rich or know people you don't have to be beautiful to make it in Hollywood. For everyone else, you actually need exceptional good looks or talent. Indie movies bother me lately because of the ridiculous nepotism in their casts. On that note, Rooney Mara's family is worth millions and has owned football teams.

The U.S. version is like "Larsson Lite" due to director's choices. It stands alone, but pales in comparison to the Swedish version. See both & judge for yourself. For those who don't yet know, all 3 of Larsson's books have been done very well w/the same actors. I've watched in English & in Swedish w/subtitles & though all were very true to the books.

Definitely liked the Swedish version better, it was explained better but the American version was great too!

I actually thought the English version was better than the Swedish version. There were some strange changes made in the Swedish version, like Lisbeth giving herself away by emailing Mikel about the bible verses. Why would Salenger ever do that? And I felt the changes the movie made (making Anita Harriet rather than having them travel all the way to Australia to find her, removing the whole Cecilia love affair - which honestly did nothing for the plot) were all justifiable and subtle.

Re: MVPnis – Not really true, it was bound to be made into a movie since the books were so successful.

  8. 8

The swedish version was not better. Please. It was cheesy and looked like a B movie. The only thing that carried it was the actress that played LIz, who they should have brought back for this superior American version

Re: Barney – Actually, if you see the goddamn movie you'd realize that this girl was EXCEPTIONAL in the film and has massive talent.

    Re: violethill

    I disagree

if the swedish movies bombed there would be no remake. The Actress that played Liz CARRIED the film ( which was cheezy at best)

Re: MVPnis – plus - Noomi said she wouldn't do it anyway because she is over and done with the character.

  12. 12

Re: Barney – And it is quite offensive. You are basically saying anyone who comes from wealth has no talent. Not true at all. There are tons of entertainers who are talented (i.e. Rooney) who come from wealth and have talent. Of course they have an advantage, but that doesn't mean they're terrible. I thought Rooney was the perfect LIsbeth, she totally immersed herself into the character and stayed very true to the book character.

Re: MVPnis – Are you American or European? I haven't seen the American version yet, but it's a well known fact that Hollywood often overdo it with the action etc.. I haven't read the books, but I think all the actors did amazing jobs, although Noomi of course outshone all of them.

  14. 14

I read the books, watched the Swedish films and now the American version of the 1st book (in that order). OMG the American one was far superior. I had to force myself to watch the Swedish ones and I loved the books. So corny lookinig/cheap production. Noomy was brilliant but so was Mara.

  15. 15

I thought that was Elijah Wood!!!!!!!

  16. 16

Although this film stands alone, it is "Stieg Larsson Lite," & anyone who has read his trilogy or seen the 3 Swedish films will be disappointed. The director should not have messed w/the story, though he did have sense enough to ape the look of the Swedish films. I wouldn't see this version again, but I would watch any & all of the Swedish versions over & over. NOTE: the DVDS are available reasonably on Amazon.

  17. 17

she looks like elijah wood's little brother

Knew nothing , zero about this movie going into the theater. Very good movie, weird ending though. I later found out it is a book with 3 parts, so the no ending is just till the next movie comes out. I may have to read the books now, i guess I am hooked.

Rooney was fantastic as Lisbeth in Fincher's version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Noomi Rapace was also great as Lisbeth in the Swedish films but the rest of the Swedish versions were less than impressive. I definitely prefer the American version and Rooney as Lisbeth impressed me when I was expecting her to not be able to compare to Noomi.

    soooo ugly

  21. 21

    Too violent for my taste

  22. 22

Noomi Rapace from the original The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo (2009) was much better in the role. Watch the original and then make your comments.

  23. 23

Rooney was WAY better! Best performance of the year. That other version was like a twilight movie. Terrible!

  24. 24

Saw both versions of the movie. Loved Rooney Mara. Found the Swedish version to be too cold. However, I believe if they cut some of the graphic scenes from the English version, they will appeal to a much wider audience.

  25. 25

I fell in love with Rooney Mara. I loved the way she tortured her rapist and I loved the way she fucked Daniel Craig. Great actress and a great performance. I would marry her for the rest of my life.

  26. 26

she was born with the golden spoon in her mouth…she thinks she is entitled..I do not like

  27. 27

I thought both women played Liz pretty similar…they were both great. I thought the Swedish version had way more suspense- that fact that making Anita Harriet rather than having them travel all the way to Australia to find her wasn't nearly as suspenseful or shocking to someone who hasn't read the book, like myself. Also—HOLLYWOOD had to of course put alot more sex in and make Liz way too sexual—DIDN'T THEY READ THE BOOK…she was against making women just be sexual objects then they turned around and portrayed her the exact same way!! The movie poster of her naked w/Daniel Craig fully clothed standing behind her like her protector—what? the poster is the opposite of what the BOOK IS ABOUT. Why did Hollywood even think they could do better…the movie was only out for 2 yrs…

  28. 28

I absolutely LOVED the original, and though the remake had some good things, overall, it wasn't quite as good as the original. Honestly, after seeing Sherlock, you know that Noomi Rapace could have done the English version. Not sure why they didn't try to get her to do it. After all, she WAS Lisbeth Salander, and Rooney Mara just couldn't quite get that same intensity.

  29. 29

The Swedish version blows the American remake out of the water. What a bunch of failed attempts at Swedish accents and a disjointed attempt to tell the story. FAIL. Noomi Rapace epitomizes the edge of Lisbeth Salander. Perhaps if they hadn't bleached out Rooney's eyebrows, she could have actually conveyed some of the anger and angst of the character. There was far too much focus on Daniel Craig …and not even he could save this editing stinker. At least the popcorn was good.

LOVED her in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and she looked SOOOOOOO fucking hot naked!!!!!
