What if Vanessa Lachey hosted X Factor instead of Brit Steve Jones? Can you picture it? Well, it almost happened!
Lachey says that she tried out for the gig back in the day before they decided to go with Jones.
She said that following on her audition:
They went with a British guy [Steve Jones]. You can't get more polar opposite, so I am OK with that. Now if the host was a brunette girl in her early 30s, I would be like 'wait a minute!
Jones' performance as X Factor host was bleh. His future with the show? Also bleh.
Same for Nicole Scherzinger, though her performance was just awful.
But Lachey is ok if Jones does get canned. She landed the co-host spot on ABC's Wipeout.

I don't know what it is about Vanessa, but I'm just not a fan. She doesn't seem that likeable in my opinion and that's probably why they gave the british guy the hosting job.

If I were a hollywood bigwig I'd hire Vanessa to take EVERY kardashian and their cousins to a remote island where they would fight over who is will be the most relevant in 10 years. Other than that she isn't talented and I don't mind if I never hear her name again

She would have been perfect! As a former host for both MTV and Entertainment Tonight, she was very good at what she did. If they do get rid of that guy, she'd be a great replacement. And they can also replace Nicole with Cheryl Cole while they're at it.
I would much rather have HER as the host than that tool bag Steve Jones. He is HORRIBLE. He has zero skill and his dry humor does NOT cut it. The Brits are too dry…Dunkleman would be better then this tool…

After watching her as the new host on "WipeOut", I'm sorry to say she probably would not make a better host than Steve Jones. Nick Lachey, I'm sure would be better.
