Text Messaging Declines In Some Countries

Americans still love texting, but countries like Australia, Finland, and China may be getting tired of their cellular messaging service in favor of social media apps.
Finland saw a significant decline of texting on Christmas Eve, which is traditionally one of the busiest days of the year for texting. Last year Finnish peeps sent 10.9 million texts the day before Christmas, but only 8.5 million this year.
Hong Kong saw a 14% decline of texting on Christmas Day this year, while Australians sent 9% fewer.
Analysts are attributing the decline of texting to the rise of social media applications on cell phones like Facebook, Twitter, BlackBerry Messenger and iMessenger. Texters in the U.S., however, are still going strong as reports have found it is actually rising in popularity.
Are U tired of texting or will you be tip-tapping away until Siri can read your thoughts?
