18-Year-Old Widow Stops At Nothing To Protect Her Infant Son From Violent Home Invaders!

| Filed under: Legal MattersInspirationSad Sad

We hate to have to celebrate any loss of life, but this woman's story is truly incredible, and she needs to be lauded for her bravery in such dire circumstances.

Sarah McKinley, an 18 year old mother of an infant boy and, as of Christmas day, widow to a deceased husband who lost his battle with cancer, was forced to shoot and kill an intruder in Oklahoma on New Year's Eve when he and accomplice attempted to break into her house with force and a long hunting knife.

Check out a news report on the horrific events (above)!

So absolutely twisted that this man would single out someone who had already endured so much, and wish to inflict more pain and violence upon them.

But we're just happy to know that Sarah was able to keep a cool head, while managing to arm herself with weapons, calmly discuss her options with a 911 operator, and simultaneously keep her infant quiet and calm.

Truly an inspiration.

We know that some day, her son is going to proud of his mother for stopping at nothing to protect him.

Yeah right Perez, in the Liberal nanny state you want us to all live in this woman wouldnt be able to own a gun or have second amendment protections to defend herself and her child. In fact the gun she hot this clown with isnt even legal in California.

  2. 2

She did what she had to do. People are pushing the lines too much & not in a good way: beating/stealing from random grandpas and grandmas, have shootouts in front of a daycare, stealing from poor.

  3. 3

    SOME ONE IN AMERICA!
get this poor kid and her baby out of the ghetto.
    Come on America!
Get one of those Kardashian sisters to dig into their pockets and get her a safe house in a safe suburb. Some one help her….

  4. 4

I wish my mom and myself were as dope* as her… Seriously.

  5. 5

Wait…did Perez just post a positive firearm story?! Did hell freeze over?!

Kudos to the mother for using her 2nd Amendment right properly!

  6. 6

She sounds like a very together lady! I hope someone will reach out to her and give her some help because you know with her husband dying and a baby she needs it. I respect her a lot.

  7. 7

    You go Girl!!!

  8. 8

This is why our 2nd amendment is so important! Without the 2nd Amendment, this story would have been"18 Year Old Widowed Mother Raped and Killed, Infant Son Missing"
Don't ever let the liberals take away the 2nd amendment!

  9. 9

I feel sorry for her. I know it has to be hard knowing she killed someone, even though she was protecting her and her son's lives. Also losing her husband on Christmas day. Wow, glad she's ok though. I wouldn't have hesitated either.

  10. 10

Am I the only person who thinks this is fucked up? Yeah she had to protect her child but surely just waving the gun at the person should have been enough to make him turn around? Yes, if it was my child I probably would have done the same thing but I'm a bit concerned over how normalised it all seems?

  11. 11

Re: xdominogirlx – A person breaking into your home, you don't know what they're going to do to you or your child. You don't know if they have a gun and will shoot you the second they see you. What was she supposed to do, wait and see if he'd just rob her and be considerate enough to not kill or rape her? Come on now..

  12. 12

Re: xdominogirlx – Are you insane??? What the hell is wrong with you.
Wow good for her. I would have done exactly the same thing. Protect the 2nd amendment!!! Shocked Perez posted a positive gun story.

  13. 13

Re: NOLAgurl2010 – agreed. Plus there were 2 men. It's bad enough when 1 person breaks in. And when there's more than 1 it gets even worse. It was a fight or flight situation. She fought. Hopefully she makes enough money from these interviews to move to be able to move to a safer neighborhood.

  14. 14

Kudos to her. On the news I heard there was 2 invaders one she killed and the otheer turned himself in. WHAT? Let's see she last her husband around Christimas. She has
a young baby and 2 thugs is trying to break in on her. Oh, Cherie you did the righ thing.
They could have killed her and the baby. That's how I answer my door late at night if I'm alone. Always keep your little friend near and dear. JMO!

  15. 15

Take that you anti gun liberal hippies of California. Your anti-gun opinions is probably why LA is a cesspool run by gangs. Fortunately the 2nd amendment isn't dead, otherwise she would of been raped and killed leaving that child completely alone.

  16. 16

Re: xdominogirlx – Are you mentally FUCKING retarded? Let's wait until the robber pulls out a gun, since they are waving around a huge knife and you never know what else he may have. It's okay waiting until he stabs or shoots my baby… THEN it'd be fine to kill him. Ya know, after he hurts me or my baby. rather than killing him BEFORE he gets the change. People like you are the reason this country is fucked.

  17. 17

Re: CKJ10210 – CHANGE*. God that person is an IDIOT.

  18. 18

chance.* Too pissed off to even type correctly.

  19. 19

Isn't there any way of shooting without killing, and still protect yourself?

  20. 20

Re: xdominogirlx – You are a fuking idiot.

  21. 21

    Re: Queen92 – You're a fuking idiot too

  22. 22

What a sick and violent country the US has become, hiding behind the 2nd Amendment just for their twisted right to own more guns. American society is in the toilet, it's one big reality show filled with trailer trash. And still the citizens think every other country admires them.

  23. 23

Re: Queen92 – Yeah… this is what I'm thinking too. Would have been better if the story had been that she had shot him in the leg or somewhere non lethal and waited for the police to show up.

Where I'm from this would definitely have been frowned upon and not celebrated. Girl probably would have gone to jail for a few years. Seems awful that people in America can shoot and kill whoever they wish as long as the person is in the house without permission.

  24. 24

I would have warned him first. And if he came in anyway, THEN I would have shot him, in the leg, so he could get some jail time and be in a lot of pain for a long time.

  25. 25

Re: xdominogirlx – You are just 8itch-slap dumb!

  26. 26

If there were more 12 gauge shotguns waiting for home intruders, there would be a lot less home intrusions! It's not like they're breaking in for a cup of coffee, why do liberals think people need to be so passive and not have a loaded gun waiting on them?

  27. 27

If she didn't shoot to kill, she would have been sued by the intruder. Because in this pathetic, liberal country, defending yourself is no longer an option. If you really think making guns illegal is going to stop the bad guys from getting them on the black market, you've got another thing coming. God bless America! Oh..I'm sorry…did I offend you when I said God?

  28. 28

She did EXACTLY what any woman with a small baby would do if found themselves alone and surrounded by two crazy fucks that are armed to kill you and your baby. I would blow their heads right off. Forget the whole, "Human sympathy" at that point, if you are in danger, there's no limit to what you would do to survive. That's reality folks.

  29. 29

GOOD FOR HER. Every single last woman should carry a firearm at all times. Don't be a victim, be a ruthless tiger mother!

  30. 30

good for her! but that picture of her husband looked really old and outdated. was that really him? looks like they filmed the wrong picture

  31. 31

STOP!! Or My Mom will Shoot.

  32. 32

Re: Queen92 – Death is a sdie affect of being shot. The guy that ran away probally had to change his underwear.

  33. 33

Re: Pottan – A country that protects burglars more than they protect their law abiding citizens sounds like a terrible place to live to me.

  34. 34

And wy is nobody outraged about the fact that this 19 year old girl has a baby???? I bet all I have she is on welfare too. Think about that first, America, that is the REAL problem!!!! uneducated kids producing more kids.

  35. 35

Re: Judyg73 – Because any with a brain that watched the video can clearly see that she is a smart, mature, young woman!

  36. 36

I'm stuck on the fact that the call went on for 21 minutes and no cops showed up?! Good on her for shooting that scum, too bad the other guy didn't get it as well

  37. 37

Look, I think some of you are being unreasonable here.. I think people should be able to have guns to protect themselves because there are a lot of people out their willing to harm and kill you faster then you would them.. However, I think that it should be tougher for people to get guns because i'm tired of hearing stories of people with mental problems going out there easily buying them and then going on a shooting rampage.. There has got to be a better way to do background checks and distributing guns to the right people for the right reasons.. yes, there will always be grey areas but at least make it a little secure for other people.. that being said, some of you saying she could have done this or that instead of killing him? Well you don't know how it feels till you are in her situation..waiting to see what some stranger is going to do is a death wish.. they came into your house uninvited? what do you think they are going to do? Have some tea? Ask you nicely for your stuff? Don't be ridiculous.

  38. 38

She lost her husband and is now the only caretaker for her child. She could not have known what their intentions were. She had to protect her baby and more reason to protect herself because all her child has right now is her. When you are in that situation and your adrenalin pumping, millions of things running through your head, it is unreasonable to say that she should have done this to the intruder or that. She had to do something in order to protect what was left of her family and thinking of shooting some stranger in the leg to save him, isn't always the first thing that comes to mind. He could have still brought out a gun with a shot leg and killed her.

  39. 39

I don't think you should judge someone until you are in their situation at that moment in time. To judge her in a scary situation that requires fast thinking is really unfair.
p.s. Not all people who don't want guns in the world are liberals and not all liberals think the same and don't want guns. That is just crap and more reasons you are giving to hate one another. As long as the guns are safely away from kids and are for the right intentions, I don't see a problem with it.

  40. 40

Re: DimeDime – Maybe you should check out the list of the safest countries in the world to live in, and check out their laws on weapons.. There is a connection there!

  41. 41

Re: OJsakila – Why? Because she/he asked a perfectly good question? It's a fucked up way to think that allowing everyone a gun will make the world a better place to live. How do you not understand that probably most murderers and rapists with guns got them so they could "protect" them selves? You're no longer living in the wild west! Get over it, and start thinking about why the U.S have so high killing rates..

  42. Aleya says – reply to this

    42

Re: Pottan – It was a guy with a fucking hunting knife that was said to be stalking her. Trying to break into the house with a child. In what fucking world does this person deserve to live? Do you think he was trying to break in so he could watch "dancing with the stars" with her? Fuck no.

  43. 43

If you compare murder rates to other countries that do not allow guns, they are the same if not higher than America. Obviously America will have higher murder rates via guns but that does not mean anything. A lot of European countries have higher murder rates than America even thou guns are illegal to have there. So it would be foolish to think banning guns in America would reduce crime, violence and murder. It's illogical to even think banning guns would serve any good.

You ban guns, criminals would continue to get guns, law abiding citizens would not. Liberals can argue it all they want, but they will lose. Killing people is the worlds second oldest profession. We have been killing each other since our existence. Governments and religion have killed more people than anything else in this world and yet liberals want the government to crack down on guns..LMAO that won't end up biting us in the ass at all! You can't ban knives/bows and arrows, etc. If anything it would end up causing MORE crime. Cough Alcohol prohibition cough.

Theres no logical or rational reasoning..liberals just need to give it up. If another Civil war was to happen..All of those liberal heavy states would be screwed hard. Most of the people running their mouths about guns normally always know nothing about them. Or the laws and how hard gun owners get screwed.

  44. 44

Re: Queen92 – Maybe you can do that and post a summary since I don't know what your point is. All I was saying was that I'd hate to live in a country that would arrest me for protecting my baby if someone was trying to break into my house.

  45. 45

Re: NookiesWA – Before you spout off with your typical American rootin' tootin' shoot first and ask questions later diatribe, you should do your homework. I went on several websites looking at the statistical data for firearm deaths and the good ol' US of A tops the list there kiddo. This is based on a pop. of 100,000 per capita. "The rate of firearm deaths in the United States (14.24 per
100 000) exceeds that of its economic counterparts (1.76 per 100 000) eightfold." Get your facts straight before you pop off next time. At least your number one is something, eh?

  46. 46

Re: NookiesWA – OH and please stop using that tired old argument about a civil war! What a joke. You really think that a bunch of yahoo's running around with AK-47's would be any match to your armed forces? At the first sign of trouble, they would squash you all like bugs…as if that would ever happen anyway. What century are you living in anyway?

  47. 47

Re: ElleFromVan – "If you compare murder rates to other countries that do not allow guns, they are the same if not higher than America. Obviously America will have higher murder rates via guns but that does not mean anything."

Apparently you do not know how to read. I clearly said that America will obviously have more deaths by guns but that doesn't mean we have the highest murder rates. A lot of Euro countries have higher murder rates. L2read before calling me out. You just lost what argument you had.

  48. 48

All I can say is bless her heart, I think she did the right thing at the end of the day.
I wouldn't want to take a chance that seeing the gun would scare them off, if they were coked up then that would do nothing, deadly force is the only thing that would help.

  49. 49

Re: ElleFromVan – and you completely misinterpreted and misunderstood the civil war comment..sigh, what do you know another liberal that has no idea wtf they are talking about when it comes to firearms

  50. 50

Re: Queen92 – My thoughts exactly. If someone is threatening your life (not just your property) then yeah you have the right to disable them and if you accidentally kill them then it was an accident in a situation where it was your life or theirs. However you don't have the right to attack someone to kill and it is pretty hard not to kill someone when you're shooting them.

  51. 51

Re: NookiesWA – Oh okay Nook's I didn't realize you were comparing yourselves to third world countries, congrats! You are NOT lower than other industrialized countries, darling….oh and that IS taking out the fact that you guys prefer to kill each other off with guns.
    Yeehaw y'all!

  52. 52

Re: NookiesWA – No, I completely understand what you are saying I just disagree with your paranoid fear of "civil war". So ridiculous it's hard to even comment on.
…and yes LA does have a lot of gangs killing each other and those caught in the crossfire with water balloons…oops, nope wait…guns. So your solution is MORE guns, ugh, whatever. Bored of this convo, I'm sure you'll piss me off about some other comment your going to make on another topic so I'll connect up with you then. Smooches.

  53. 53

    Re: fluffygalore
This happened in a suburb that is considered safe! I lived in the neighboring community and there has NEVER been a time that we never felt safe. In fact I would still feel comfortable letting my kids run outside in the yard and play with the kids down the street. For this to happen in such a small and tight community is very shocking. I'm just glad she was able to protect herself and her son in this situation. The town to the North is proud of you, Sarah!

  54. 54

Re: Judyg73 – She is obviously a caring mother who takes responsibility, and that is the most important thing as a mother. All the money in the world cannot make you a good parent. What you're saying is ridiculous, and you have no right to make such derogatory assumptions!
