Work It Wasn't Exactly Werkin' The Ratings!

work it ratings

ABC's new cross-dressing comedy didn't attract as many viewers as they wanted…

Work It only modeled for 6.1 million viewers, scoring a sad 2.0 in the 8:30 adult demo.

Critics have even said "it's so bad, you feel sorry for it a little."

Enjoying a much better night was CBS with 20 million tuned into NCIS.

So what do U think? If you're a show offending the transgender community, you might not have the best ratings. Think so? Or do U think that's totally unrelated?

it was a stupid ass concept-who the hell approved this show?

  2. 2

It's a completely lame premise and I cant believe the show was even made. It will be gone before the end of January.

  3. 3

We already have Ru Paul's Drag Race that does well on LOGO - we don't need this.

Just a rehash of Bosom Buddies in the early 80's (80 - 82) with Tom Hanks, Peter Scolari and Donna Dixon. Well it does not take Hollywood long to reinvent the wheel.

I was flipping through the channels last night.. I thought this was a lame comedy sketch not an ACTUAL show..

Unrelated. Not everything in the world is connected to the GLBT peeps.

It isn't that its offensive as a new or progressive concept per crossdressing. Its the fact that its premise is stale and old. "Bosom Buddies" was a hit in the 80s. Because it was done better and with a better cast. In the 50s, people loved the movie "Some Like it Hot". Problem now is that the use of cross dressing isn't so much offensive as it is simply passe, banal and dumb. A true cross dressing/transvestite and/or actual transgender comedy would be progressive and probably funnier than this old piece of cheap network sit-com toast.

    not related

This show wont last long. It looks horrible. Only one show did this good and that was Bosom Buddies.

This show is insulting to women, not just cross-dressers. Its premise is that women have it so much easier and jobs come more easily to them. Really?! In what world?

I always dumbstruck by people who think men in drag is funny. "He's a man, but he's wearing women's clothes!! That's hysterical!" It's not hysterical, funny, or even a little amusing. It is stupid. It has always been stupid. But just wait. In a few years another show about men in drag will pop up. The pitch that will sell it to the network? "He's a man, but he's wearing women's clothes!! That's hysterical!"

Re: dreamboat – Too true. Again, nothing original coming out of Hollywood.

This is a take off of Bosom Buddies which pretty much launched Tom Hank's career. Or of Tootsie staring Dustin Hoffman.

It's not a new concept, it's just tired, like all shows/films that try to remake something that was better from the beginning.

hey dumbass, why do you slam these people for 6,000,000 viewers, but exault to high heavens when the karwhorians get 1,800,000. just wondering.
