Hollywood's Financial Support For Obama Is Slipping

| Filed under: Matt DamonPolitikBarack ObamaGeorge Clooney

Obama Hollywood Financial

Hollywood is kinda split on Barack Obama right now, so much that the Prez is sending former Bahamas Ambassador Nicole Avant to help set up fundraisers and meet and greet opportunities for the President, First Lady and other members of the administration.

Unfortunately, even some of those who were adamant supporters 3 years ago have even started voicing their opposition to what he's done in office.

Take Matt Damon for example:

"I've talked to a lot of people who worked for Obama at the grassroots level. One of them said to me, 'Never again. I will never be fooled again by a politician.' You know, a one-term president with some balls who actually got stuff done would have been, in the long run of the country, much better."

Right now Obama has raised $9,249,303 this year compared with $11,966,077 four years ago — but not everyone is abandoning him quite yet.

Like George Clooney:

"Democrats eat their own. Democrats find singular issues and go, 'Well, I didn't get everything I wanted.' I'm a firm believer in sticking by and sticking up for the people whom you've elected. If he was a Republican running, because Republicans are better at this. They'd be selling him as the guy who stopped 400,000 jobs a month from leaving the country. They'd be selling him as the guy who saved the auto-industry. If they had the beliefs, they'd be selling him as the guy who got rid of 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell,' who got Osama bin Laden. You could be selling this as a very successful three years."

It's tough to say, as Obama has months left to continue to fundraise, but those numbers don't lie. His policies just aren't sitting well with a part of Hollywood — and we're not sure his promises hold the weight that they used to.

We wonder what he'll say to get them back!

How do U feel about Obama in the last election vs. Obama now??

I tend to agree with Clooney. But, as I see it, it doesn't matter which party is in the Oval Office because Congress is where the real power is - and the main focus of congress is the destruction of the other party - regardless of what it does to the country.

Matt Damon needs to chill - what makes him such an expert!

STFU Perez. Stay out of politics. And realize you are only influence morons and morons. This is not you genre. Leave it to professionals — they spin it enough. Use the power you have better than you do.

Re: Chicana – Not that he talked to people in the Bizz! What about you, how do you pick your choice!
Gooney! Ya! Good examples Osama, Dont ask, auto(hard to write a check) is this all he has for Obuma???

Clooney's comments are constructive. Long and the short of it: Dem's are whiney pushovers compared to Repugs who will eat their young, alive, to get (re)elected.

Obama was only voted in because he is black….he was never qualified to be President and surprise….STILL WAITING FOR MY CHANGE!

Re: Yenkme – he picks on color and if they are democrats…..doesn't matter if they are qualified or not.

    Old news bitch

Hollywood shuns losers and whether it is true or not (he is not getting my vote a second time), Obama is being perceived as somewhat of a loser right now with poor odds for reelection.

damon is obviously still a supporter because he's upset that obama hasn't done enough. but the alternative is the completel opposite of his beliefs. pretty sure a dynamo like santorum isn't getting his vote.

I agree with Matt and have been a little disappointed in Obama…but I can't imagine voting for any of those Republican candidates…I mean Santorum? Really?? The Romney who won Massachusetts might not have been bad but this "new" Romney would never get my vote. I wish I could vote for Hillary, but in lieu of that I suppose it will have to be Obama.

Someone tell me why I should celebrate when a Progressive is disappointed that Obummer is not Marxist enough?
Instead, I’m outraged that the media is SO Marxist, that the allegation that Obummer is too Conservative, passes for a valid opinion.
Like a lot of Democrats, Damon and Clooney are just disappointed that Obummer hasn’t been a bigger thug, back when BO and ALL THE DEMS were shoving Obamacare down our throats.
So when is Obummer coming after you Hollywood types that make too much money?
Just like Wall Streeters, you are.
You need to give it up, Hollywood.
Presidente Foodstamps will eventually come for your money too!
The OccupyPoopers will come to your homes. They have maps.

Brainiacs like you are Obama’s true “firewall”.

Obama hasn't been what he promised or what I expected. However, I'd never vote republican, especially since most (all but Huntsman) are insane. It still could be worse, Palin could be VP. Yikes!

  16. 16

Who do you think are a part of the one percent Perez?
The Obama/Soros created crowd got their walking papers and started marching against everything H-wood represents. Whoopsi.

Re: Chicana – Matt Damon sees the Liberatarian Truth Movement train coming and he knows that this train can upset the entire spectrum of left right politics including overturning the revisionist history we all have suffered in the United States since 1948. Ron Paul, elected or not, 'will deliver his message' before your dictator Obama or Romney will greenlight the open door to 600 FEMA camps nation wide. People wake up now and drop your differences. This is real.

Re: luvs2hustle – You have it exactly right. These people ARE marxists. They bow to the European elite faction of Marxism which is really Fascism. Its an elite core at the top where everyone is reduced to serfdom like conditions at the bottom, or worse, they start executing people. The Royal Houses of Europe, Vatican, Bavarian Banking cartel which owns the Federal Reserve in secret, and the Black Nobility of Europe are really the ones directing the tear down of America. They do this through control of currency and yes the Europeans have control of our U.S. dollar and send our kids to war and stations around the world to ensure the countries take the dollar and use it at the world reserve currency.

  19. 19

Obama does not need the money. If the bankers want to keep him, they will. Your elections are all rigged anyway. This is all about Rothschild owned Israel getting its way and so far Obama has granted the Rothschild's everything they ever wanted on behalf of Western Europe and the UK. If they get rid of him it would be to their advantage because changing horses would mean in 4 years from now, the American public would forget the lawlessness of this particular administration anyway. Ron Paul is your last shot to reverse the newly passed NDAA bill and to audit the Federal Reserve and shut it down or give it the treasury with FULL transparency.

…no, he hasnt got it done…..yet….wut really suks, is that the alternatives are much worse…..hey matt, when u gonna shut yer pie hole and lead occupy ?
