Rihanna Becomes Highest Selling Digital Artist Of All Time!

Rihanna is number one among tech heads and the digital world.

The Barbadian bombshell has become the top digital artist of all time, selling over 47 million tracks!

This blows the competition out the water, with the closest competitors being the Black Eyed Peas and Eminem with about 42 million track download.

However, none of Rihanna's tracks are in the top ten individually.

The number one track is BEP's I Gotta Feeling with nearly eight million downloads.

Rihanna's found love in the Internet!

She's a pretty girl, but she wears A LOT of make up. Her face skin color doesn't even match the rest of her body, and don't me it's because of a tan ;) lol

I Zero respect for any person who puts themselves back into the path of a lover's fist. This girl can sell as many singles as she likes, it does not change the fact she is morally bankrupt, tainted with self loathing, completely un-empowered, illiterate, talentless and a horrible role model for young girls. Get a backbone you pathetic excuse for a woman who fails miserably trying to act like a Man.

All of the drama aside. Rihanna, will prove to be bigger than the Beatles, or Michael Jackson. Her music is ear candy.

Brit Brit is at #10, but considering that Nielsen began tracking them in '04 that is more than good! :)

this is kinda a back handed compliment when you think about it not many people buy singles and albums so why she's selling so many singles her albums are tanking in sells

    Re: spray_man – DELUSIONAL!!

You know, I think this has less to do with her and more to do with the fact that her songs are catchy! I like a lot of her music…but sometimes I wish it was someone with a little better voice singing it when I listen to it. I don't so much like her but her catchy tunes. Not sure how that works out but she has good songs selected for her I guess…I don't think she writes any of them, right?

    Re: Sweetness24 – Ha. that's true…that looks pretty ridiculous.

Re: spray_man – Let's hope not because those two had far, far more talent!!!

Re: spray_man – When Rihanna sells over a billion albums like the Beatles or 750 million like MJ then we'll talk ok. Rihanna is a singles artist. She make popular trendy hits which are hot at the moment but she has yet to make a solid classic album or even a classic single, like MJ and the Beatles constantly did.

She was in the top ten until Katy Perry kept releasing all of these remixes with rappers to boost her sales, since the remixes are counted towards the original songs. E.T. had record sales because of the version featuring Kanye and the original single. With the way things are going now though, We Found Love is shaping up to be her bestselling song of all time (it is already her longest running #1 on the Hot 100, EIGHT WEEKS).

Re: the1 u luv 2 h8! – Have you been under a rock? Both Good Girl Gone Bad and Loud are considered to be modern pop classics, and Umbrella and Love the Way You Lie are without a doubt classics.

@Thats a Man Maury - LOL "Both Good Girl Gone Bad and Loud are considered to be modern pop classics" BY WHO, HER FANS?… They are far from classic both of those albums had a good songs on them but they both were also filled with a lot of fillers, as all rihanna albums tend to be. Umbrella is catchy but its only a few years old and already no one really plays it anymore and love the way you lie although rihanna was featured on it, it is Eminem's song so… Anyway as for the original discussion Rihanna will NEVER EVER be bigger than the Beatles or MJ. Like I said until she sells 1 billion and or 750 million albums then we'll talk

Re: the1 u luv 2 h8! – Beetles just sold well because they were the first boy band, those guys can't sing or perform worth shit haha. Its harder being a hit this generation because people burn shit!! and we have too many artist out now!!! But michael jackson, well hes perfect for sure.

    Re: Henwii
The Beatles were far from being just a boy band. As a matter of fact, they ditched the whole boy band image halfway through their career and became much more creative and experimental with their sound, which could have easily drove off their original teen fanbase, but yet created a new legion of fans. Granted they borrowed heavily a lot of their sound, but they also created a new sound that still influences artists 40 years after their breakup.br>
Rihanna, who I like, is just a pop star who makes catchy pop singles. Unlike the Beatles or MJ (who I never really liked), she's not defining a generation or creating anything new.

Re: the1 u luv 2 h8! – I have to agree with you there, I love Rihanna's singles and promos but I don't like most of her album tracks, filler is the right word for it. My problem is the songs I like are spread across 3 albums, I gave in and bought Loud but its the same problem again. Well, now she has had 6 albums, maybe it is time for her to put out a greatest hits collection? I don't think this figure includes collaborations either so it is a decent achievement as she has done a lot of high-selling collabs as well as her numerous singles and promos ;o)
