Journey's Steve Perry Is Serious About Recording A New Album!!

Steve PErry New Music

Journey frontman Steve Perry is thinking about recording new music… the first new music since 1998!

He's building a new studio, and why would he be doing that without the intent of recording??

Sure, he could have others come in and record, but it's at his HOME!

Plus he said this:

“I’ve written a whole bunch of ideas and directions, all over the map, in the last two, three years. I plan on getting in the studio at some point and start trying to track these things and see where they go. I’ll worry about it sucking, and then what am I gonna do? I’ve got all this pressure… that I just don’t want on me, so I’ve allowed myself the ability to sketch and write as I go, and I’ll do it at my own pace. I’m no spring chicken. The same arthritis that ate up my left hip that finally got replaced hasn’t stopped there… And touring is a lot of work. I’m impressed when I see people like Eric Clapton out there. Gee whiz, Eric, give me a break! It’s amazing. I know it’s gotta hurt somewhere.”

LOLz! Stop showing him up, Eric Clapton!

Maybe they could tour together??

Either way, we're eager to see what new stuff he's come up with. We're thinking it'll probably be a dubstep album — HA!

Does this get U excited??

Wow!! I've been a fan of Steve Perry's for soooooooooooooooo many yrs. Journey was never the same without him….and never will be. I hope and can't wait till he comes out with some music….I think if there was ever one person i got to meet before i died, it would be him……..he's great. I hope he can do this through the pain he's in……I'm surprised actually that he still isn't married or with anybody….Mind you, sometimes maybe the "trust" part just isn't there. I know it isn't with me.LOL

With all due respect. I know he had physical problems but I think he's voice is also shot which is the main issue.

    OMG, i love his voice.

He had a great voice. The key word here is had! I'm a huge fan of a lot of the older bands and the voice goes as we get older. However, we are living in the age of auto-tune with Britney, Rhianna and all the others, so why not make a come back (with a little help).

LOVE him!!! Journey with Steve Perry is my all time favorite band. When I hear his voice I melt. There hasn't been another artist that even comes close his sound. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!

His voice will still be there and he is still Steve Perry…..Theres ppl. out there who have aged and can't hit some of the notes they used too, but they still are and sound like the same person. There will ever be only one Steve Perry and he will always have "that" sound in his voice that ppl. fell in luv with.

Steve Perry at his worst is a hundred times better than Arnel Pineda (Journey's current frontman) at his best — Arnel is just awful. Now that he's ready to get back in the studio, every fan's dream would be to see back with Journey where he belongs!!

…journey was a great band before steve perry….this guys solo career had only one hit and it sucked…..

So…who's looking for him to come back??

  15. 15

Love, love, love him. He IS Journey. Saw them and went backstage in 85.

  16. 16

He's still a sweetheart and i do hope he gets back to making an album……I'll wait as long as it takes.he's worth it…

  17. 17

Omg…I would have *killed* to see Journey or Steve Perry solo in the 80's. This mans velvet voice is fantastic!!!! Sorry to hear about the arthritis moving somewhere else, can't imagine how he did all of that grueling touring prior to the hip surgery.
I have NO DOUBT in my mind that this man can adapt to the music of the new millennium. =p

The world is reaady for more Steve Perry! I can't wait! love his voice!

    I just wet me knickers.

As a huge Journey fan, honestly no. This doesn't excite me. Listen to Steve's last release. It was a Greatest Hits album with previously unreleased material. With the exception of the demo that got him into Journey, and the stuff from Street Talk, it is so dull. It's actually what I listen to when I can't sleep because it knocks me out. If he manages to create music that doesn't put me to sleep, I'll be happy. But I honestly don't expect that out of Steve any more.

If somehow he ends up on tour with Journey, I'll still probably be the first person in line to buy tickets, though.
