Dancers Alliance Does Flash Mob For Music Video Contract Rights

Dozens of members of the Los Angeles dance community and members of The Dancers Alliance rallied in front of Sony Music Entertainment offices on Friday in protest over their lack of rights in music videos.

Dancers who are in the union get benefits when they work on stage shows, movies, television and commercials. However, when it comes to music videos, performers say that the music video industry is still like the "lawless wild west."

Dancer Kevin Stea says:

"If you see me or my fellow dancers on the Grammys, we are working under a union contract. If you see us in movies, commercials, or Dancing with the Stars, for example, we have a union contract. But when you watch dancers perform in music videos, we are working without a union contract and without basic protections on the job and no hope of insurance or pension benefits."

In their new campaign "It's About Time," dancers are seeking proper pay and benefits for their work in videos. Watch their flash mob rally above.

Really simple answer to their bitch complaint,,,, DON'T WORK ON VIDEOS. pretty fucking simple isn't it? Also when you can't even get 30 of your "brothers" to show up, your argument does not ring true.

Then maybe they should not work on music videos. They are lucky enough to get a gig here and there. They should stop being so greedy. If they have any real talent they would be making most most of their income by other means.
