Don't Worry! Celeb Rehab Is NOT Canceled!

| Filed under: Dr. DrewRehabReality TV

Yay! More yummy yummy Dr. Drew goodness will be back on our teevees!!

Despite earlier rumors that said that the VH1 reality show Celebrity Rehab was going off the air, it turns out it "isn't canceled."

An insider says:

"A new deal is close to being signed and Pasadena Recovery Center readying the facility for more production."

And that better mean that our favorite resident technician Shelly will be back!

The show has received some criticism after two of their stars, Jeff Conaway and Alice in Chains bassist Mike Starr, passed away after completing treatment.

But honestly, that has nothing to do with the show itself as it does give an honest look at to what it's like dealing with addictions and being in a treatment center.

Hopefully, the show still can provide a positive experience for those who need it and will continue having success stories.

    should be cancelled!
see no benefits to the show other than everyone's paycheques
have they had even 1 success?
even someone who has stayed clean/sober for over a year ?

I don't see how anyone could possibly take recovery seriously if the cameras are rolling. Once the cameras are on it is about performing - any true introspection goes out the window. To turn a serious problem into cheap entertainment is just sick.

The seasons/treatments need to be longer, or include the return of sober house. Even fans will lose interest with seasons so short and infrequent.

look this is my favorite show i dont know why they should cristism on it when it helps people that needs it if you dont want to thats on you this people have emotional addiction problems and lots of pain thats when either die naturally because they think is the only way out which it shouldnt be or the kill themselfs which is so sad but tv is not the problem is there addiction which they dont want to let go off dr drew helps them get sober and gives them the tools to get out of the habit it does an amazing job at it he seems like a therapist to so that helps them even more dont take the show out it could help someone in need

The Great & Wonderful Wizard of Celebrity Rehab and his 12-Step religious cult "Higher Power" Voodoo are an absolute SCAM; all of his patients are more addicted than ever after finishing his ridiculous nonsense.

The fact that 2 people have passed away after treatment just proves how deadly addiction is and that the percentages don't lie about relapse. The bottom line , never give up and no matter how many times you fail or FALL, you get back up and try again, and again and again. How ever many times it takes. I hope this show never goes away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jeff Conway had gone to several rehabs, should they also be blamed for his death? I don't think so. It just simply shows that addiction is not an easy thing to recover from, its a day to day thing that you constantly have to be aware of and rededicate yourself to sobrity. Celebrity Rehab allows us to realize that some of the people we have watched on tv, or in movies are just as human as we are. They have gone thru some of the same experiences we have and it gives a very clear look at what recovery can be like for many! And to Sloane who asked if they have even had 1 success, yes they have had many I can't name them all but I know 1 person that is still clean and sober more then a year after her appearence on the show - Mackenzie Phillips!

The only rumors about it being cancelled were from you, you moron. After the last stint, Dr. Drew & Bob both said that they no longer wanted to do it, there was never any mention of it being cancelled. Neither of them will be in the new episodes.
