New Edition Of Dungeons & Dragons Coming!!

D&D Reboot

Attention nerds and fantasy lovers (and Vin Diesel) alike! There could be a new official edition of Dungeons & Dragons on the horizon — something that has been lurking in development for a while, and a way to bring the old board game into the era ruled by WoW!

This would be the first overhaul since 2008, four years ago!

But they aren't going into the dark and dangerous land of reboot alone, no. They're also taking the fans: by asking hundreds of thousands of them to tell them how exactly they should reboot the franchise.

“D&D is a unique entertainment experience because it’s crafted by the players at the table, and every gaming session is different. We want to take that idea of the players crafting that experience to the next level and say: ‘Help us craft the rules. Help us craft how this game is played.’ ”

That's a pretty cool idea when it comes down to the players themselves and how they use the rules — because beyond the rules it's almost completely up to the groups imaginations! Why not let them have more control and input than they already do??

Still, this might not work. Like we said, those new video games with almost limitless possibilities are closer and closer to putting the game into its grave — making it truly a thing of the past.

Do U still play D&D? Would U like a reboot?

Surprisingly, there is still a large group of the population that plays board games. My husband and his friends (and occasionally me) play games that really challenge your imagination and reasoning. Instead of mindlessly following a video game and story where you just shoot things, you actually have to be creative and really think about that end goal of winning. (Don't get me wrong- video games are fun too) I don't think board games will ever truly go away.
