Can YOU Sing??? These Folks Can!

| Filed under: RihannaCan YOU Sing???

Soooooo much talent!!! And so many familiar faces - as well as new ones!

We were BLOWN AWAY by all the submissions for our latest "Can YOU Sing?" cover competition! We watched each and every submission and were so happy to see all the different takes on Rihanna's You Da One!

It was tough, but we've selected the best of the best! And wee think RiRi will love all these!!!

In fact, this time it was soooo close that we've got TWO winners this time!

First up, we have Simone Battle. Some of you may recognize her from U.S. X Factor this season, where we think she was unjustly given the boot by the judges far too early. In her cover, she shows the potential and work ethic we saw in her!

Simone Battle HAS the "X" factor! She has the voice, she plays instruments, she has the looks and the charm and her cover is really captures the vibe of You Da One so beautifully. Check out her super dope video to accompany it above!

And also…

Tying for first are The Shures and their exquisite take on the song! Soooo pretty!!!

Such beautiful harmonies! Such a sweet take on the tune! Such a clever re-arrangement! Check out below their take on You Da One below!

And, Check out the 2nd place entry and all the honorable mentions…. after the jump!

Second place goes to Sound Elijah!

Such a great voice! So versatile! And he's got so much swag! LOVE it!

Check out his cover below!

Congratulations on getting an honorable mention to Xoxoashleyyyy!

We're not sure where she's from, but we like to imagine that she's French and her indie take on the super pop You Da One is just presh!!! Lurves!!!

Check out her cover below!

Congrats also on his honorable mention to Dan Talevski!

His voice is like butter to us! So smooth! We just can't get enough!

Check out the Canadian hearthrob's cover below!

Congrats to Drew Tabor. Her take on the song is pretty straightforward and a straight-up pleaser!

Check it out below!

Congrats to Sarah Williams! We really enjoyed her cover and the contrast between her sweetness and the beats!

Bangin'!

Check it out below!

Congrats to Sugar Joiko on her honorable mention as well! She takes it to the streets in her cover - literally! Ha

We really dig it!

Check it out below!

And, finally, congratulations to Su Charles! She completely reinterpreted the song and re-imagined it as a soul slow jam!

Yeahhhh!

Check it out below!

Thank you so so so so MUCH to everyone that entered! Perez, as always, personally watch reach and everyone one! We think you ALL rock and hope you continue to pursue your dreams!!!

Congrats to Elijah and Drew Tabor!! They are my favorite YouTube singers!!

Simone Battle is cute and put together a good video but The Shures sounded a lot better

I had to pass; anything Rhianna gives me a splitting migraine headache worthy of suicide…..

These guys are REALLY REALLY BAD!

The Shures should have come in first alone. Simone put a lot into her video but I wouldn't say she sings better than the Shures. She just had a more of a produced product. Take away her autotune and she can't stand close to the Shures.

Seriously PEREZ! You have been hanging around Lady GaGa too long… the winner hardly had a voice and everything was filtered. The Two boys that got second place were actually VOCALLY TALENTED! BLAH THATS WHY I NEVER GET ON THIS DAMN WEBSITE

The woman who won sounds horrible. The Shures sound amazing though!

The Shures should have won alone. Simone's version was good but she put significantly more production into her effort and that should've been taken into account when compared to Dan Talevski's and The Shures covers when they were just accompanied by guitar.

c'mon perez- Simone- isn't a singer- she's way over produced !! some great voices on there- i prefer those that didn't need to hide theirs through a producers chair…… just keeping it real baby!
