Rosie O'Donnell's Super Blunt Review Of Melancholia

Melancholia garnered some high praise this week as it won the top prize at the National Society of Film Critics awards. However, it seems that when critics around the country were polled about the movie, no one bothered to ask Rosie O'Donnell for her two cents.

Oh, and did she have stuff to share!

When asked about the film winning the top honor at the National Board Of Review gala last night, Rosie ever so eloquently said:

"If I had the choice between giving birth to a flaming child on the floor of an igloo, or watching that film again, I would choose the birth of my child."

Of course you would.

You know, we haven't seen the film personally and the trailers confused us and we're not even really sure what Melancholia means, but c'mon! A couple of hours looking at Alexander Skasgard can't be bad! We're sticking with the critics on this one!

The film sucked. The actors are all.good but the script was just blah.

  3. 3

Perhaps Rosie is not as enamored with Skasgard as you are.

Working in this industry, I have seen a lot of boring "artsy" movies.. but I think Melancholia does not fit in this category. It is a FILM, not a movie and does a wonderful job exploring the relationships and "melancholic" life of this family. Kristen Dunst is wonderful in this role and (in my opinion) very underated as an actess. My prediction is that she will be the "surprise" nominee come Oscar time. The only part I did not like about this movie was the final 5 seconds.. I think it could have ended just before that (pun intended). Go see it… it's worth seeing a great film. Oh, and sorry Perez … Skarsdgard is only in it for the first 1/2 hour.

I saw Melancholia and it was fantastic. The cinematography is beautiful and the story paints an amazing portrait of depression.

serious film goers could care less if anything has Rosie's stamp of approval
    just the opposite probably…
imagine rosie endorsed her friend Madonna's recent movie- and it was panned by critics
given her level of bad taste- this is more like an endorsement that if it doesn't appeal to her- then you know for sure it will be fantastic!!

I don't really wanna see it, the title has already informed me of the state of mind I will be in after watching it. The darkness of winter time is depressing enough as it is.

That fat slob needs to stick with mainstream movies. She's too fucking stupid to understand anything else.

If I was promoting this film, I would use Fat Ass Rosie's review in the ads
Most people are aware of just how far off Rosie is when it comes to judging/creating fine entertainment
Remember when she took Tattoo hugely successful London musical staring Boy George
to Broadway, and changed it to her liking, of course the show failed,Boy Georger to this day hissses when he hears her name, how about Rosie' Variety Show, or her Gay Comedy Show, or he magazine, her relationships,or her show on OWN

As I said if I wanted to promote the film, just say Rosie does not like it

Watching the film, at times, is like taking a dull rusty razor to your wrists — but in a good way. This is not a movie. It is a state of mind. The film is trying to make you feel a certain way and then take the journey of the end of the world with these characters — some of whom cannot face reality. It's a brilliant movie and a hauntingly memorable one.

you get like, 45minutes of Skarsgard…and it is with a shaky motion sickness inducing camera.

To each his own; a lot of people really liked it. She's a comedienne mainly, but she knows what she likes and doesn't. Big deal.
