Have you come off the high of the big twist in last night's episode? Okay, good. Prepare to sky-rocket back up again! An insider from Glee has confirmed that Rachel Berry's long-awaited two gay dads are FINALLY going to make their debut on the show — and they are pretty familiar faces from film and theater!

The patriarchs of the Berry household will be portrayed by none other than celebrated film actor Jeff Goldblum and acclaimed Broadway vet Brian Stokes Mitchell. Respectfully, they'll be playing Hiram and LeRoy Berry, the adoptive parents to Lea Michele’s Rachel Berry character.

Expect them no only to make their first appearance on the show’s Valentine’s Day episode (airing actually on February 14th,) but get this — they are going to sing! And Jeff might play a little jazz on the piano! And Brian might do a little soft shoe! And…and…

Oh we are just too excited to think! This is just going to be so AMAZING!!!!

isnt one of her dads black?

  2. 2

they're not even trying to have continuity on this show anymore

  3. 3

okay people, pay attention! Brian Stokes Mitchell IS an African -American actor.

  4. 4

Re: indigo2 – I was just about to write that, come on Perez do a little research before saying something on your site, Brian Stokes Mitchell played Hilary's boyfriend Trevor on Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

  5. 5

Ahem… Mitchell's ethnic background is German, Scottish, African, and Native American.

Perez Hilton! Racialization cleanup, aisle 2.

  6. 6

perez hilton's journalism is worse of The National Enquirer. I'm surprised sponsors still pay to be on this site.

  7. 7

Yes, Brian Stokes Mitchell IS African American. So, there is continuity.

COMMENTS ON AGAIN,,Kim Kardashian Meets A Brave Little Girl,, THIS DAMN SLUT i fucken hate her. taking PR advantage of this innocent child. she should be set on fire..as you should you for publicising this pig and her family. your support of this whore is despicable. post a shit story like this and turn comments off is vile.

  9. 9

In the pilot, we see a photo of her dads and one is obviously black, not black by technicality…He was Wayne Brady black, not Beyonce album cover black…

they made an appearance the first season and one was black…i'm so sick of glee it turned into a show that just shoves big stars, over played songs and the gay agenda down our throats

Re: indigo2 – i was just about to say the same thing.

yes ok brian stokes is from african american decent but his skin is not black, rachel's dad was a dark bald black guy not bi racial and barley even tan. They didn't choose brian because of his ethnic background they chose him because he's a major broadway star

    Re: raypearsonRe: raypearson

Everyone knows that Kim takes pictures with sick kids for PR, and it is disgusting. She could give two shits about those poor kids. I think it is safe to say that she and her family are not donating any of their millions to help these sick kids. Perez would trade sexual favors for chicken nuggets in a heartbeat, so it is no surprise that he is now a shill/stooge for the Kardassian family.

  14. 14

I normally dont care about kids tv shows but this is one pile of shite that i cant wait for them to cancel. its the tv equivilant of a big mac. a gay big mac.

  15. 15

Isn't it a huge continuity problem if ANYONE other than the two people we saw in the photo in the pilot play her dads? Since there was absolutely no groundswell of "Get those two extras back on the show!", I'd say replace them with anyone you want.

  16. 16

brian stokes mitchell IS african american, even though in that picture he doesn't look it. but he is.

  17. 17

Brian Stokes Mitchell IS black - albeit light-skinned.

  18. 18

i thought one of her dads was black..

  19. 19

i loved it, two great actors.
and yes they showed rachel dads picture on the first episode, but that were models and not actors they didn't know if the serie would be sucessful or not so they just put models to take that picture(at least that was what ryan murph said).

  20. 20

And the gay agenda continues to ensure this show's ratings spiral downwards.

  21. 21

As other have said, Brian Stokes Mitchell is African American. As someone who acts like he follows Broadway musicals, you should know that he played the iconic role of Coalhouse Walker Jr. in Ragtime, a musical talking about immigrants and African Americans struggling for their rights in America in the early 1900s. He was highly acclaimed for his portrayal as an African American man who is tormented by racist firemen in New York. Again, for someone who seems to think he knows everything, this is quite an oversight.

  22. 22

Lame! They should have done something amazing and cast the two actors who starred on Nip/Tuck! Nip/Tuck was another RM production and everyone was always teasing the chemistry between Dylan Walsh and the other guy. RM missed a huge opurtunity here.

  23. 23

    Finally!

  24. 24

This show has too many characters. Hopefully they are just sitting at her graduation.

Am I the only one worried about pervy Jeff Goldblum on the show more so then what color of black Brian is? We already got one creepster on the show with Mr. Shue don't need another.

  26. 26

Derp, he is black. And also, the percentage of blackness really doesn't matter, folks.

  27. 27

One of her dad's is meant to be black. I specifically remember that because in the first very episode Rachel is talking about how her dads gave sperm to surrogate mother and she's like" And to this day I still don't know which one is my real dad, which I think Is really amazing" and then you see a picture of her dads and one of them is black. Could they not even try to continue the show properly? That bit from the 1st episode was hilarious. would the creators not think we'd rememeber it?
