Etta James Has Passed Away!
A legend has been lost. So sad.
At the age of 73, Etta James died last night at a hospital in Riverside, California. Her longtime friend and manager Lupe De Leon confirmed the news moments ago, revealing that Etta's soulful and iconic voice is no longer with us.
Etta was suffering from chronic leukemia, dementia and hepatitis C for quite some time, but it was complications from leukemia that ultimately led to her demise.
The music world is mourning a significant loss today. There will never be another like her. Our deepest condolences to her friends, family and fans for her passing.

RIP Etta. Etta was born in 1938; her mother was just 14yrs old. Etta always believed she was the daughter of world famous pool player Minnesota Fats. She met Fats in 1987. Fats said he couldnt confirm or deny since he was too drunk during that period to know for sure… Fats would be 25 at the time of Jame's birth. They do look alike. Same pudgy face, same facial structure.
